It seems that Time Warner Cable does not like customers dropping the video part of the monthly bill and having high speed internet video streaming.

Starting in Nov. Time Warner wants to tack on a monthly $5.00 Modem rental charge for thier internet customers, I hope a lot of folks switch over to DSL.

Thing is that $5.00 a month amounts to about a little less than 17 cents a day. I think most people will suck it up rather than going through the hassle (and possible fee) to do a conversion.

That said I have high speed internet and see no need to have the video side. I guess 'the market' will figure out what to do with the situation.

The landline telephone companies are also loosing wired house telephones with people switching over to cellular telephones, technology is always changing.
