Cute little game ...

For some reason I find it rather hypnotic:

On a side note, I went to the main site (www.ebaumsworld.com) after coming across it in a news story. Someone sent them a "funny" video of them dousing two live opposums in fuel and setting them on fire.

They contacted PETA and the police. Well done.

Shanglan

I hate you!

You made made dovote minutes of my life on something that I would never be able to do!! (well I got to stage three then thought f*** it!)

That's fun, Shang.

Thanks.

I hope the police and the courts take it seriously. Pointless cruelty isn't as bewildering and horrifying to everyone as it is should be. If it were, PETA wouldn't need to exist.

I was hoping the cute game would somehow involve Shanglan and Carson with a wide variety of toys to get Shanglan motivated. We could definately create our own puzzle game involving positions and endurance. ;)

The penatly for breaking the game rules, you guessed it, a trip to the briar patch. So...you better not break the rules. Consistent violation will result in mild beatings or flogging at first, with subsequent violations requring more forceful measures.

Might I have a copy of the rules? Just so I know what to do? Repeatedly? ;)

Agreed. Personally, I don't agree with many of PETA's positions (especially on the topic of training one's pets), but I'm glad that the site managers contacted someone and that PETA evidently got the authorities involved. That sort of sickening torture - one of the animal cruelty investigators described it as the worst thing he'd ever seen - must be met with immediate response. If nothing else, I'm very grateful to the site managers for this alone: their actions firmly and clearly indicate to those who made the tape that other people do not find this amusing and are repulsed by their actions. It's frightening to imagine people who could not only be so pointlessly vicious, but also imagine that others might derive amusement from it.

There is a high statistical correlation between people who violently abuse animals and those who commit violent crimes against humans. If you know a child or adult who deliberately inflicts cruelty on animals, please consider that person's family, children, spouse, neighbours, and friends, and do the right thing. Contact the authorities. In children, particularly, this is often a sign of severe emotional disturbance and may be a symptom of abuse or persistant neglect. Help them to get professional assistance.

I only have a fur coat because it's the only thing my Mother left me aside from a ring, and I am not embarrassed to wear it, I did not kill it, and did not pay to have it killed. :( I feel bad now with PETA in the mix, the radicals. It took me 5 years to put it on without feeling guilty, but it's all I have, and I wear it proudly) Thats an aside.

As for the game, I did get through a number of levels. Great logic game. There are a couple more logics that are cool, and ROFL some really fucked up ones like the ass hunter who gets fucked every time he misses killing the gay guy LOL, and the kitty throw - LOL.

Bad - bad - bad

I recognize that it wouldn't make me popular in some circles, but I really don't see a great difference in ranching animals for fur as opposed to ranching them for meat. Mind you, PETA objects to both, and to dairy. (Not sure about their position on wool.) I don't have moral objections to animal-ranching in principle, although in practice I think it's important to have regulation to ensure that the animals don't live lives of torment and misery before slaughter. But then, I eat meat and have purebred dogs that I take to dog training every week, so by PETA standards I'm somewhere in the lower circles of Hell anyway.

I'd say wear the coat and grin. If you meet any PETA folks anxious to throw paint on you, I suggest asking them why they seem to find rich ladies in furs so much more objectionable than large male bikers in leather. Then you can direct them and their paint to the nearest Hell's Angels HQ.

Now here is an intriguing conversation. I was in a discussion with an artist here in Toronto ...mm ... maybe three years ago. The controversy was, and an emphasized quote and unquote, "ART SHOW". The art show was mixed media, with video of a cat skinning, while the cat was alive. There was argument between her and I - about WHAT ART WAS. I personally, felt it a discusting excuse for art (though have written a similar porn piece on the art of killing, but that is unreal mystery sex, with edge, not real). Again, felt it an excuse for an artist who wanted to gain PR, but was a real lousy excuse for a person. The point is, such atrocities do not merely occur in murderers, but rather as PR moves for artists of all kinds.

How do you feel about this? Animal torture as, 'Art', maybe human torture? Can we discern in "ART" what is real and not? How do we find the line? There has been much discussion about porn laws lately, how, in censorship, and we must censor as a society, how do we determine the acceptable from the not?

Sorry, Shang. I was inspired. :)

I'm sorry but you'll just have to try numerous things to see what works and what doesn't. Thing something along the lines of Twister combined with a Slip and Slide, naked of course.

Now...toss in some dice, a few naughty suggestion cards, a metric ton of alcohol, and a few gophers for good measure. Mix it all and up...Voila! The perfect party game.

:D

Personally, I find it repulsive, but then I have more than one reason to dislike it. I think that anything involving the torture of a sentient being is offensive and wrong, and I would love to see the alleged "artist" prosecuted to the fool extent of the law. I also believe that anyone who considers flaying a cat alive to be art is so far divorced from any guiding artistic principle other than his or her own grotesquely bloated need for attention and utter incapacity for attracting it in any useful way as to be not worth discussing art with. I have a dim view of shock art in the best of times. Shocking people is not difficult; it requires little inspiration, knowledge, or execution, and to call it art is to suggest that every three-year-old who lays on the carpet screaming in the middle of his parents' dinner party is an artist.

Not that I'm at all opinionated on the topic. ;)

Addendum on games: do NOT play the little defend-the-castle-from-stick-figures game. Not unless you are either very bad at games and lose easily, or have an enormous amount of time on your hands.
