cures for colds

I was wondering if anyone had any home remedies for colds....

My friend passed his cold onto me this weekend and I have an extremely sore throat and the sniffles....

was just curious if anyone had any ideas...

I am already taking enchincea and throat drops, but they are not helping too much

greatly appreciated!

I could give you the recipe for herbal remedie but it'd be easy to just go to the store and buy something.

Only remidies which alleivate the symtoms.

lol, well yes I do have 2 eyes.....

when I had shorter hair, even now actually with longer hair....my hair would always fall over my one eye.....

I make sure to use nyquil at night. I use tylenol for colds during the day. It doesn't cure it but I am not quite so miserable then.

If you catch the cold within the first 48 hours, I have found a significant improvement from the lemon Cold Eez (sp?) I need my voice for my work and one day I just got a terrible cold out of the blue and started to lose my voice. I started taking them (follow directions before inserting in mouth!) and by the next day I felt almost 100%. It was amazing. I started taking it almost within hours of the onset, I believe it makes the best improvement.

Ok, here it goes:

Herbal Remedie

You need Elder Flower, the flower part

Pour a cup of boiling water onto 2 teaspoonfuls of the dried or fresh blossoms
And leave to infuse for 10 minutes.
This should be drunk hot three times a day.


Peppermint

You need the aerial parts

Pour a cup of boiling water onto a heaped teaspoon of the dried herb and leave to infuse for 10 minutes.


Elder Flower can be combined with Peppermint.

If your concerned with taste you can add in alittle brown sugar or honey.

Are you familar with infusion?

Infusion instructions:

1) Take a china or glass teapot which has been warmed and put one teaspoonful of the dried mixture into it for each cup of tea that you intend to make.

2) Pour a cup of boiling water in for each teaspoonful of herb that is already in the pot and then put the lid on. Leave to steep for 10-15 minutes.

The tea should be drunk as hot as possible.....


Not sure if that will help you any, it's the only one I can find at the momebnt and with my computer acting up I"m lucky to get to post that one! LOL!

take a nice warm bath.
bundle up under the blankets
drink a 12 oz glass of Bushmills Irish Whiskey and add a little coke/pepsi.
drink it all down and go to sleep

i did this and i sweat the cold out overnight.

I've been sick for three weeks now and that sounds as good as anything else I've tried...here goes nothing
