cunt or pussy, dick or cock

I go with the American porn standards, pussy and cock. In narration. There are at least 69 words for cunt. I began by deciding never to repeat in a story, but my editor, bless her heart, broke me of that idea. She found "cunt" very coarse, almost abusive. I suppose she was raised delicately.

There's a How-To article which lamely lists a couple dozen synonyms, but I agree, now, with my first editor, that you can't use most of them, except in the case of dialogue, where a given character might have a way of expressing herself.

The tuppy, the patootie, the minge-- these are good to know. But in narration I think they fail. His johnson slid home into her flange-- no. Ah, no.

In regards to that particular part of a woman's anatomy, I have better things to do with my mouth than talk about it.

You and me both my friend, you and me both. (You can ask my wife about me and talking, at the right times, it just doesn't happen.:p )

It depends on the context, I suppose. Most often I think I use "cock" for the manly bits because it's got enough of a nasty ring to it when you say it aloud. A nice kind of guttural sound to it. Dick sounds like a middle school insult or the Vice President, to me.

I probably use "pussy" predominately for the female (though I can't say it aloud without grinning). I use "my sex" and stuff like that as well.

I'm like Charley with ass/asshole, I know that euphemisms irritate some people, but at times, in certain stories, a bit of delicacy can ratchet up the eroticism. (Though, unlike Charley, I find the British "arse" kind of charming.)

I would like to say, here in the anonymity of Lit, that I had no clue that "minge" was a vulgar term for a woman's pubic hair or genitals until last Friday. It's not one of those word I've never heard, just didn't know what it meant

At some point I am absolutely certain that I have used that word, completely oblivious to its meaning. I am cringing with embarrassment.

"Dick" seems rude and crude. I don't use it in any erotic sense, but only when a crass character needs to make a point. I find "cock" far more erotic and arousing.
