I was at the SCG yesterday watching the an international match between Pakistan and Australia.

It's a fairly slow game, similar sort of tempo to baseball and the crowd gets heavily involved with the supporters groups getting stuck into each other . Yes some of the comments are racist, sexist anti religious and cultural mickey takes, but it seems to be given and taken in good humour. In 20 years of watching International cricket in Australia I've only seen one crowd get nasty and that was a stoush between English and Australian supporters.

There have been one or two incidents between the players, one recently that springs to mind is when a turbaned Indian suggested on the field that an Australian of Carribean background was a "monkey"!

Cricket is very lucky. The top teams are India, S.Africa, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, West Indies and New Zealand. So you can have these cultural ethnic and religious divisions black, brown, white, Hindu, Buddhist, Moslem, Christians, Rastas, old colonial versus colonies, local rivalries etc.

Every match provides the opportunity to give the opposing supporters a hard time and no matter how politically incorrect all the supporters of all the teams get stuck in.

The essential thing you need to understand about blacks is: Most of their bullshit is bullshit. Theyre expert at reading white people, and so long as your heart is in the right place, they usually dont fuck with you.

The Census Bureau stepped in shit giving blacks a choice of how to identify themselves. This year you can be BLACK, AFRICAN-AMERICAN, or NEGRO. And the Usual Suspects are howling BLOODY MURDER about NEGRO eventhough some blacks requested the identifier. You cant win with these clowns...so eff them.
