they are definitely the best kind. in fact, i generally don't eat crullers unless i know they're not those cakey fuckers. just not a big fan of cake donuts. too dense.

I like a good plain cake donut. No frosting, glaze, powder or those better living through chemistry sprinkles. But a cruller is not a cake donut. A cruller has that melt in your mouth egg bread thing going on. The donut shop i go to makes a great plain cake donut, but tries to pass off an old fashioned sour cream as a cruller. Ridiculous.

i once worked at a gas station that sold crullers that were basically just lumpy cake donuts. i was very disappointed when i found out.
