Anyone see it? It's astonishingly good. It's the picture that's going to make George Lucas say, "See! That's what a Jedi Knight looks like! "

Not yet but I will.....

been hearing about it for a month now - supposed to be one of the best movies ever made. Can't wait - but it's only in the smaller arts theaters here - lines around the block just to see it.

I jealouse you saw it first.

is it really good? its at the local art theatre place in two weeks and wanted to see it but its already sold out!! pretty exciting considering the kids will only be coming back into town that weekend

Not yet!

I just love martial arts movies (I think I'm the only girl in the world that does!) and I've heard such good things about this one that I'm gonna have to see it ASAP. Now I just have to find someone to go with me!

Mmm...Michelle Yeoh...there's a girl who could snap your neck between her thighs...and you'd die happy!

Well then this will kill you -- I saw it at home. On video. One of those "For Your Oscar Consideration" tapes that get around Hollywood months or even a year before they're released to the public.

Though it IS one of those films that should probably be experienced on the big screen.

Dixon!!! Do you know how CRUEL it is to taunt people who live in small towns with this information??? Hell, I only JUST GOT to see Pi because it was FINALLY on cable. I live in a town with no descent rental store or a movie theater. And you get tapes in ADVANCE! :::sob:::

A couple of years back I was on the Screen Actors Guild nominating committee for the SAG awards (not a big deal, they pick your name out of union hat), and I got a ton of tapes sent to me, including several that hadn't even been released in movie theatres yet. I felt like a real Player for a few weeks.

Actually, as a SAG member here in LA I can see an untold number of screenings around town, before theatrical release sometimes, but I rarely take advantage of it. Those studio lot movie theatres don't serve popcorn! And I gotta have my pops.

I did see "Jurassic Park" in the same screening room Spielberg edited the film, which was cool, mostly 'cause I sat in his chair (the one with all the buttons on the arm and looks not unlike Captain Kirk's chair).

I suppose I'm only a wee bit impressed because I love movies so much, so I dig all the freebies and little extras I get out here. Of course, I'd be a lot happier IN the friggin' movies, rather than just watching them, but Tom Hanks has got the funny leading man thing wrapped up, so....

So I've got a tape for "What Women Want" and watched it the other night. Not bad at all. I thought it would be a lot worse.

I could use something good in the martial arts genre. Good for business and all. Will I have to think too much? Will it make me long for yet another Jacky Chan offering (I loved Shanghai Noon). We need another Karate Kid-type offering without the unreal BS. Too bad there is so little real action in Zen.

The martial arts are etheral, and some of the best ever filmed. But, sorry to disappoint you, there's actually a story attached. A very GOOD story, mind you, that will holdyour interest. Not one fight exists for itself, but only to advance the plot. It's tremendously romantic.

Here in Indiana, they changed the title to make it easier for the locals. "Dude, Where's My Car?" is showing on two screens with lines around the block. Same movie, right?
