Cross vs. Mosque

Here's the logical argument for this situation.

We, in the US, have rules. Rules that makes sure that we can say pretty much whatever we want, worship whoever or whatever we want to, and practice our religions on our own time in our own private property.

It doesn't LEGALLY matter if it's insensitive, or that it'll cause pain to some people who lost friends or family in the attack. The fact of the matter is, the rules in the US state that it's perfectly legal for them to build their mosque there if they want to, and if the government interferes with the mosque building, that would be ILLEGAL and against the rules that protects EVERYONE ELSE from building their religious buildings anywhere else.

This isn't about feelings, emotions, or who's gonna cry because of it.

All rules have to apply equally to all people, or the freedom that makes the US such a wonderful country to live in isn't REAL FREEDOM.

If you want to protest the mosque building, go to NY and protest. But don't try and get the government to do your dirty work for you because you're too lazy to do it yourself. YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO PROTEST, but you don't have the right to ask Obama to do it for you.

End of thread.
since we have free speech

its ok to call COLOREDS

what they really are

NIGGERS..................right?

There aint NO LAW!

and since COLOREDS use teh word NIGGER all the time, we should as well

after all

EQUALITY n stuff:cool:

Because liberals hate Christianity, and public displays of Christianity, and make up phrases like "the separation of church and state" to control religious beliefs they don't like; while charging to the aid of those who hate American core beliefs, as much as they do.

You do know that there are Christian churches near Ground Zero right this very minute? And that no one cares, least of all liberals? Because everything in what I quoted is completely false? Right?

No, you don't do it because you're an "Interent tough guy." I have little doubt you've never called a black person a nigger to his face in your whole life, and given your interest in self-preservation, never would.

By the way, I'm a Christian. This isn't about religions and whose is better than whose, this is about legality, pure and simple. My feelings...OUR feelings and emotions here have NOTHING to do with if it's legal or not. Do I think it's insensitive? Yes. But that doesn't make it illegal, nor something that the government can or SHOULD get involved in.

If anyone wants to stop them from building the mosque there, exercise your constitutional rights and go out and PROTEST. Don't try and get the legal system all involved where it doesn't belong. The separation of Church and State protects EVERYONE (Muslim, Christian, Atheist) no matter how anyone else -feels- about it.

you JUST proved the point

MIGHT MAKES RIGHT!

I wouldnt, there is NO LAW against it, only SENSITIVE FEELINGS

Yet we arent supposed to use that word, cause someone get PISSED off

and MAYBE punched out

SO THERE REALLY ISNT EQULAITY

IS THERE:confused:

The point is that the only people doing any complaining about anything religious in the vicinity of Ground Zero at the present time are you folks, about this "mosque."

For all the "liberals hate Christianity" nonsense that Vetteman is spewing, I notice he's not pointing to many actual examples where anyone has tried to stop the building of a church. Hell, I live next to a church.

A simple cross in the Mojave Desert that happens to be on federal land that isn't being used for anything has to be removed.

But a Muslim place of worship has to be built on the site of a Muslim terror attack on New York.

Why?

because the cross is on PUBLIC land, and mosque will be on PRIVATE land.

no

what MOST are saying is that the MOSQUE shouldnt be built there

What I am saying is that EVERY SINGLE MOSQUE ANYWHERE IN TEH WORLD SHOULD BE LEVELED, HOPEFULL WITH MOOSEFUCKS INSIDE!@

Im sure the Church posts extra security on account of you:D

They just need to make that cross more useful.

Maybe some illegal immigrants can be crucified on it.

Liberals hate Christianity, America, puppies, people having money, and everything else that's good.

Because the cross was on Federal Land and the Constitution forbids the State from recognizing a religion.

Because people have a right to practice their religion and the Constitution protects that.

It's the same fucking Amendment, you idiot.

God but you're a fucking idiot X10

Non sequitur. Why didn't Obama come out and say that St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church should be rebuilt? Why haven't liberals come to their aid on First Amendment grounds?
Has anyone said that someone planning to rebuild it shouldn't? That it would be insensitive or something?

Just askin'. I don't know.

Google it,, they are being hassled no end by the New York Port Authority.
From what I can see, it seems they were caught up in the same buerorcacy quagmire that left the whole place a gaping hole for years.

And they're apparently still ask for donations to afford to build the thing.

The comparison to a funded project in a city block building on private land, well out of the reach of that tangle of red tape, and opposed on emotional grounds alone, is as moot as moot can get.

You're mistaken.

"The Government" can and does deny zoning approval to whoever the city council (influenced by ordinary citizens) wants to. If a piece of land is zoned for something other than places of worship, they have to apply to rezone it, or ask for an exception. Whether it's a church, Wal Mart, school, hog farm, airport, or shooting range, zoning codes determine what's allowed to be built where.

Wal Mart doesn't cry when they're denied zoning approval, neither should Muslims. Wal Mart doesn't whine about civil rights when they're denied, they find another place to build. So should Muslims, but NY was too chickenshit to deny them.
