I'm not on Facebook. Don't know anything about how it operates.
My lovely bride is a member, though, and some time ago she did something to my computer so that Facebook comments pop up out of the bottom left corner of the screen.
The Facebook family is large, to the point that more than half who post are unknown to me, people who are friends of friends or distant relatives. Why in the world would I want to see a second cousin from Texas, someone absent from my life for all but about 4 hours, with that occurring 55 years ago?
So there's a bit of a creep factor when a message shows up on my screen (it's still there, complete with this guy's mug shot), informing me that someone I don't know bought shoes and did some grocery shopping.
Why share that information with everyone when it's not worth mentioning to anyone?

Thats the thing about Facebook...once you sign up it owns you for life. there is no shutting it off or opting out.

My son put some movies on instagram from his trip to NZ
I looked at getting on to it to watch them. WOW..He says, did you look at them yet
I said, well, I was going to but it poped up connected to facebook and I read the conditions and now I have to decide if I want to sign my life away

He LOL'd
