It seems every brother/sister story is the same---
Either they are already screwing each other at the beginning of the story, or they notice each other while they are lounging on the couch, and just start going at it.

I'm looking for stories that creatively explore how a brother and sister might hook up. Under another name, I had written a story about a brother and sister hooking up by playing truth or dare with a third party.

To me... a story where a brother and sister suddenly discover their lust for each other and rip off their clothes to go out at it.. such a story is so ridiculously unreal, that it loses the taboo feeling.

A brother/sister hook-up should be gradual, and based in the friendship bonds between them.
For example, perhaps a brother finds that his sister has taken naughty pictures of herself on the family webcam. At first, he is shocked. Then he is turned on. This alone, could be the entire story and it could be sensationally erotic. Taking it a step further, perhaps it leads him to spy on his sister. Perhaps he blackmails her... but not the over-the-top, "You'll be in trouble unless you fuck me."
I wouldn't take the story, at least the first story of the chapter, any further than perhaps he blackmails her into posing for him. Her feelings about it. His feelings about it.

Another example-- A girl watches her brother making out with his girlfriend and becomes envious. Later, the three of them go to the beach. Perhaps another group of people get which girl is the sister and which is the girlfriend confused. Carrying it on as a joke at first, they switch roles, with the sister pretending to be the girlfriend, and the girlfriend pretending to be the sister. After a couple beers on the beach, they carry the joke too far, but only slightly too far.

Anyone know of more stories like this? Anyone care to write a story like this?

My take on the brother-sister incest is still in process (ok, it's almost hopelessly bogged down!), but the basic plot is that the brother hears the sister through the wall doing the deed and it arouses him. This continues (since she is an unrealistically active slut ) until he "can't take it anymore." Or some shit like that.

I think I've got an interesting angle but I am not satisfied with the way I've handled it so far. Their rooms share a wall between the closets and when they were little they dug a little hole though the drywall to talk after hours. Fast forward 10 years and they never use it anymore, but he listens in through the door while the sister goes wild. I started it as an exercise to see if I could do itwell but that ground is SO well covered here on LIT. Almost anything comes out as very overdone and cliche unless its OUTRAGEOUSLY unrealistic (as mine almost is.)

I am in complete agreement here. I have a thing for stories where there is an obstacle between the characters getting together - especially when it is something that would really keep them apart. The brother/sister incest taboo is a good example, but it's annoying when the story doesn't seem to take into account that the shit would hit the fan if they were found out. There would be lots of trust issues and confusion. I don't want to read about two sociopaths going at it.

I wrote and posted a story awhile back - I used mistaken identity and alcohol as the facilitator(s). Maybe one day I'll get around to re-writing chapter 2, but I can guarantee they won't be knocking the boots without any remorse/guilt/second thoughts.

If anybody knows of any good stories where there is a likely obstacle, please point me towards them. For examples: "I want to have sex with him/her, but..." and it's something like, the brother/sister taboo, "my parents would kill me if they found out," "I would lose my best friend," "I would get fired..." Something where the character's lust is in opposition with his/her sense of right and wrong. And where it's realistic, like CreativeKaos describes.

Characters should be afraid of the taboo.

I hate to throw in negative vibes, but some of this sounds exactly like the sort of thing CreativeKaos was talking about... It seems to gloss over the 'taboo' part. It's a weird juxtaposition - the taboo is what turns people on about the situation, but so often in incest stories, it doesn't seem to be taboo to the characters. All too often (for my tastes) the mother and/or father catch the siblings, AND JOIN IN!!! WHAT THE FUCK?!? It would never never never happen in real life! If that happens in a story, I want the writer/story to earn it, and I have never read one that did. Same thing for the initial coupling, whether it is brother/sister, mother/son, father/daughter or whatever. I like reading stories where things are at stake for the characters, where the consequences are realistic - a person who makes a move on a family member is putting SO MUCH on the line. Quite often, in real life, a person is nervous to make a move on another for fear of rejection (and all the things that can affect). With a family member, that fear of rejection should be multiplied ten times over. The character should be - and would be in real life, unless they were nuts - conscious of all the things that could go wrong if they were turned down, if they mis-read brother or sister's signals -- Doing irreperable harm to family relationships, for instance, getting kicked out of the house, being put in treatment facilities, etc.

I really don't want to offend, because obviously, many people (most people even?) prefer the sort of story that is more fantasy than reality. People have different tastes - this is the way I feel about it at the moment - I generally don't listen to hip-hop or country music, for example, but there are lots of very talented people who make the music. I'd be a jerk to say it had no worth, it's just not my thing for now.

BlackSnake, the plot treatment you laid down on the 24th of Aug, I was with you until the 5th paragraph - the last two sentences. Neither of them are even embarassed? Neither of them thinks "this isn't good"? And then in the 6th, I start to lose interest, because I can't beleive it. What son wouldn't cover himself? Not that 'American Pie' is realism, but can you imagine Jason Biggs' character not being embarassed, not trying to hide it, when his parents walk in on him? I like the fact that the mother "made a mistake" in the past - but other than that, I don't understand why these kids (and Mom, too, I assume) haven't been screwing each other for years - they don't seem to be any more concerned than two people who aren't related.

I'm aware I probably sound like an ass - and for that, I apologize. From the responses it seems most people like your plot as is, so I'm probably in the minority here. This is just what one reader wants to read.
