A psychological drama of swapped lives, shattered trust, and a truth too dangerous to stay hidden.

When Elizabeth Caine—overlooked wife, exhausted mother, and former actress—agrees to switch lives with her glamorous twin sister for just two weeks, it’s supposed to be a harmless escape. A break from PTA meetings, meal prepping, and the quiet ache of a marriage that’s slowly unraveling.

But in Hollywood, nothing stays harmless for long.

Elizabeth steps into red carpets and camera flashes—and makes one catastrophic mistake that sends a rival actress to the hospital. Meanwhile, Rebecca, hiding in the suburbs, starts to feel the pull of the life she never thought she wanted: the laughter of children, a husband who looks at her like she matters, and a home that smells like toast and second chances.

The lie should have ended weeks ago.
But neither sister wants to give the other’s life back.
And someone’s about to get burned.

One wore the crown. The other wore the mask.
But only one gets to keep the life they stole.

Notes from the Wyld:

This story has been through more identity crises than a Hollywood starlet. It began life as a story called "Raising Caine", a completely different story—so different, in fact, that the only thing it shares now are the character names and my baffled expression looking at the old outline. What started as a family drama morphed through several drafts into a twist-laden tale of betrayal, ambition, and the razor-thin line between envy and identity. From RAAC to red carpets, this story shapeshifted until it finally revealed what it truly wanted to be. And now, the only decision left is whether to post it here or somewhere else. I’ve already made the call on "When the Music Fades"—my best work to date—but Secrets? That one might come down to the sacred storytelling method known as the coin flip.

If you’re wondering why I might not post this story here, feel free to send me feedback—ask the question, and I promise I’ll answer thoughtfully (and not turn it into a rant… probably).
