I learned long ago, clear back when I was a pre-teen with a childish crush on a classmate, that stalking someone I was crushing on was really a bad thing to do.

I typically play it pretty conservative when I am pursuing a "person of interest." It's less risky, and I can thereby avoid making an ass of myself. I think the craziest thing I did was shave my chest because I heard the girl I liked at the time preferred men with no hair on their chest; at the time people gave me grief about it (and no, I didn't "Get the girl" so it was all for naught anyway) but I actually know a lot of guys who do this so it really isn't that crazy.
