Just have to tell this story to someone...

Was in a car accident yesterday. I was riding home on the highroad when suddenly the trafic before me stopped. I hit my break and nearly missed the car before me. The car behind me was too late and crashed into me. Because i had to avoid hitting the car before me i had steered a bit to the right. When the car behind me hit me i spinned over the road and came to a standstill on the otherside of the road against the crash barrier with the nose of the car the otherway around.
When i got out some people came over to me asked me how it was and told me they were on the right lane (accident happened on the leftlane) and barely missed me when i spinned.
Glad i'm here telling this story. No real real injuries from it, although my neck is hurting and my muscles are a bit stiff.

Not a fun thing to happen. I'm glad to hear you're ok though. Something like that is very scary, I know.

But as you said, the good thing is that you're here to tell the story with little more than a bit of bruising.

I'm betting you're still shook up, too. I'm sorry mokum, and I'm glad everyone is OK.:rose:

Glad you're still kickin, man ;) I've known too many people who've come out of those things with horrendous injuries, and I think I heard somewhere that car crashes kill the most people in america, so it must be one of those unlucky/lucky type situations :D

Ouch indeed, I take it that other people involved were OK too. Truley a lucky escape from an unlucky situation.

Thanks all for your support.

The man who crashed into me was ok too. He had a big volvo and his front was totally gone, but he got out in one piece, as was his passenger.

I thought you guys all rode bicycles. ;)

Glad you're okay.

Goodness!

Glad to hear you are ok!

Take a long soak in the tub to ease those sore muscles! :)

You may be injured.....

You might have soft tissue damage, or a spinal misalignment. You are sore now, but wait till the morrow.
I was rear ended on my motorcycle some years back, I managed to pick up the bike and nurse it home. I was a little sore, and went to sleep. In the morning, I couldn't walk upright, and after x-rays, I found I had tissue, and spinal damage. Eight months later, and fifty chiropractor visits later, I was back on the bike.
So, maybe get a checkup before it it gives you trouble, just to make sure.
Glad you came through it A-okay.

Oh no sweetie.

Take care of yourself, get your neck & back checked.

Sending you tons of healing thoughts & wishing I was there to pamper you.

Poor Sweetie!

You know, I was rear ended last March on my way back to work. Didn't want to disappoint anyone so I went back to work and finished up unloading stuff into the pantry (I"m a daycare cook).

Next morning I couldn't move very well, couldn't bend at all, called in and they wanted me to come in and cook anyway. "At least get lunch started." It was chili for goshs sakes, they just needed to open the cans!

I turned in my six week notice later that week. (Six weeks, coz it's harder to find a daycare cook than you think.)

So, take CARE of yourself....you only get one body this life, and if you don't take care of it it'll wear out on you before you're ready for it too!

 But other than nagging and storytelling, I'm very happy your ok.

Gosh! glad to hear that you're ok, but I think the others are right....get yourself checked out, just in case.

Just talked to a doctor. He says the pain is gonna be worse the next couple of days.
Will be visiting him next week. Till then i must take it easy. Going to take that advice and get home soon.

:)

Treat yourself well, Mokum... I like your av, looks very familiar for some reason. Is it you?

I know this will sound werid, but, alternating hot and cold often helps in soft tissue damage. The cold reduces swelling, then the hot relaxes the muscles. In bouts of 15-20 mins that can be a real life saver!

Thanks for the advice PoliteSuccubus. Neck is hurting pretty bad so i'll try that.

the face you see is my face and still in tact :D

hey mokum dear... i am so sad to hear about your accident... and at the same time, feel most grateful that you are ok... and I hope that there are no long term repercusions, such as whiplash and stuff...

kisses and huggs to you to get all better, love...

  :rose:
