Life aint fair, and our legal system isnt either... in fact it favors the rich and punishs the poor. For example I heard of a criminal who kept sueing the person who put him in jail over and over again. The law suites were for things like "Walking accross the street" and "Talking to some strange guy". The person he was suing was his ex wife...

Anyways, the ex-wife went bankrupt with legal fees, while all attempts to stop the husband failed... The wife even got a law passed in local court, but this was quickly thrown out on prevous precidents. Its hard to overturn the decisions based on the Bill of Rights and supreme court.

The best way to avoid these things is to act smart, and to act in a responsible and mature manner. This was an obvious abuse of the system, but imagine what would happen if we werent protected these opportunities.

In another thread didn't you support your inalienable right to sue ANYONE for ANYTHING?

Gauche

In the states, I believe you can bring a suite against anybody for any reason, but unless you are able to prove actual financial liability directly traceable to the disputed injury, your case will doubtlessly be thrown out of court.

And there will be a liability. On the more frivolous cases, a lawyer will only handle the case - since he knows it is doomed - on a flat fee, paid in advance.

They don't call them nuisance suites because they address legitimate grievances.

I would repeat in bold the above comment by Gauche.

But more: what's w/all this legal concern and need for heated discussion of such on this site? I don't see the point except to rant about particulars; so far I've learned nothing new.

A corporate lawyer friend from Wales (formerly based with a communist firm in London), after the usual social inquiry re. his profession, introduces himself as a "highly paid professiona lier". He explained to me that it's all about manipulating language, just not for pleasure or beauty.

Just wanted to get that off my metaphorical chest, will now keep avoiding virtual legal issues.

as far as the legal crap... this thread Is fun... the other one became an attempt to discredit me... After I got tired of it, and after it was failed... I deleted all of my posts and hyjacked it... sorry to waste your time

I guess I should apologize to the authors here for what I did to Kostly in the other thread. I'm certain KM will make me pay for it on the General Board later on.

My warmest regards to you all. ;)

Pookie :rose:

K: my main point is that it isn't fun, for me. No one wastes my time unless I let them. P.

Yes, or you can file your own suits and go to court over them... Its a way to minipulate the system. Not really fair, but when something is worth it, its a great way to push action.

The guy in the prision case, Filed his own suites. The wife had to hire a lawyer cause she wasnt around the jail were the lawsuite was filed... plus the criminal got a day out of his cell and in the court. What further makes this an interesting case is that the criminal used the legal documents provided free of charge by the jail to find out how to do this...

He really screwed the system:)

I'll say it more clearly. What is the source of your information. Give us a weblink to verify this?

I'll say it slowly this time ...

Please provide a source for all the things you claim happened in your posts above. Post a weblink here in this thread that substantiates what you are saying.

Do I need to sign you up for reading comprehension classes?

Laying

I like the classic quote:

An ambassador is an honest man sent to lie abroad for the good of his country.

Sir Henry Wotton 1568 -1639

Pookie wants a hyper terminal transfer point ( those http:// thingies?) to find where the facts of your story are published on line.

If that is too difficult, just the full name of the prisoner would probably be enough for a Google Search.

No! Don't ask me what a Google Search is!

Dear Kostly,
Now THAT is one I'd love to read about. How about a link to that one?
MG
Ps. Please note that you showed me up for a fool in that other thread, so now I'm being nice. I know when I'm confronted by a superior intellect.
Pps. Hey, Quaz: What's a "Google search?"

Dear HS,
Yes. It seems that Kostly didn't like the way it was going and deleted the thread.
