Doris couldn't believe it as she watched her husband fall under hypnosis in Dr. Franks office. That he'd agreed to couples therapy was astounding, but this was beyond her wildest expectations.
"Now, John. If you work full time and Doris works full time, don't you think it would be fair if you helped out with the housework? Especially if you are partners in this marriage?" Partners are there for one another whether it's in business or romantic relationships. Wouldn't you agree?"
With his eyes closed and his posture relaxed. John nodded. "Yes, that makes sense."
"And," Dr. Franks continued. "If a job needs doing, doesn't really matter who does it, as long as it gets done. Wouldn't you agree?"
Ten minutes later Doris was just beside herself with gratitude. "Oh, thank you, Doctor. This is just life changing."
The doctor smiled. "Okay, Doris. Your turn."
Doris blinked in surprise. "Me? Why I don't have a problem."
The doctor looked at her seriously. "This is a partnership and both of you could use a little focus."
That night, Doris and John and are lying exhausted on a pile of clean laundry, much of which will have to be rewashed.
"God, John. Seeing you fold clothes is so fucking sexy. I just couldn't help myself," Doris gasped and wiped the sweat from her face with a pair of her husband's underwear.
John smiled, over the moon himself with this unexpected turn of events. "I think I'll go do the dishes next."
"Oh, John!"
