I'm not lying...
Hey, I did too. About twenty years ago in Marlboro Township, New Jersey. He couldn't walk--had a little electric-cart type wheel chair, but those fingers could still fly up and down the 88.

Sesame Street Live or Muppets on Ice don't count. :p

I'm not a "Jazz Fan," but Count Basie's music is not just Jazz, it's "good music" -- some of the finest music ever performed.

Very cool.

I am really digging this cd so I think there's going to be more coming in the new year

I already liked Blues and blues guitar and progressive jazz but I can see where my musicial education is lagging a bit...

My dad made us all put on our best duds and go.

I was only about eight years old, so I wasn't aware of who he was at the time.

His stuff kicks ass still, I think...

Okay help me out...my sleep deprived mind just will not function...and my memory is suffering...

Somebody and the Royal Canadians doing Auld Lang Syne....

Kids. Guy Lombardo. I remember when he was still doing the New's Years Eve show on one of the networks.

ftttfp!

Thank you for helping my early alzehimers... WH doesn't some form of Guy Lombard and the Royal Canadians play out here for New years???

Yep, I've heard the tune - great stuff! I love Christmas Swing Tunes. :D

I'll say now that, without anyone even in a close second place, Basie's rhythm section was the best that ever played. That's one of the main things that made his band swing so hard and tight.

I think Guy's younger brother took over the band after Guy's death, and they have played Las Vegas on New Years in the past. Where they're playing this year, I don't know.

I keep switching back and forth between this, Vince G trio, Sinatra, and Dean Martin...

and I am so digging this stand up bass line...fucking cool

god I was just born late or something...I would have made such a great beatnik

Hmm...I was thinking maybe the Orleans...have to look into it just for grins

His name is Carmine?

I think my brain has melted...

I'm pretty sure. I guess you could Google search it to double check.

Hmm okay...I find a lot on Guy Lombardo...

I have to go watch the 11 pm news. I wanna know if its really gonna snow...
