Socks.
One of the outside cats we feed needs a home. He's a loving, lovely cat. Can we deliver him to anyone?

Okay, since we're on the topic, we've also been feeding our next door neighbor's puppy. They're awful people and don't take care of their children, much less their pets, so once we realized what kind of pup they had we decided to befriend her.
She's a pit bull mix but the sweetest mutt you'll ever see. We give her a chew treat every day because we wanted to make certain she was our friend. She waits patiently at the fence until we arrive. We used to worry what the neighbors thought but now we don't care.
Now she's been getting out of her fence and roaming the neighborhood but my husband has actually been able to get her back into her yard - she trusts us. Anyway, she needs a good home, too. The neighbors won't notice if she's gone, I have a feeling.
So - can we ship Good Dog your way, too?

What you can't see is the furious tail wagging and the squirming and yips and noises she makes as she awaits the human with the treat.
But often she'll drop the bone to be petted for awhile before grabbing it and running circles around the yard.
Anyone need a new friend?
At this time, I'm feeding... ummm... *counts on finger* ten (10) cats in my backyard, and another pair down the street-- we run their food down to them to keep them out of our yard. Twelve cats is more than my tribe can handle.Stella will take the cat!Or rather, she would if she lived anywhere near you. Cat-lovers doesn't begin to describe her household
Come to that, I'd say "yes" to Socks, but my kitty says, "NO! Kill! Die Socks!"[she's a little territorial]
I can't take the dog because I already have a very territorial pit bull, but I just thought I would add some personal observations to your sales pitch. Pit bulls, unless they have been trained (abused is a better term) as attack dogs are uniformly sweet and love people, especially children. Other dogs and animals, not so much.
They are chow hounds, but they love being with people so much that I don't think one needs to have a treat in hand to make them your friend. Many people are afraid of them because they are so strong and have powerful jaws, but a well-socialized pit bull would never attack a human. This makes them wonderful guard dogs against animal attacks (just a few months ago a farmer in the prairies was saved from a bear attack by his pit bull companion) but almost useless as a guard dog against attacks by humans. If a burglar comes into your house I suspect that there is a better than even chance that the pit bull will offer to help carry the swag.
There are many other wonderful (and some not so wonderful) aspects to having a pit bull companion, but the bottom line for me is that the unconditional love that you receive from your pit bull makes it all worthwhile.
