I have been informed that some of the pictures posted to this forum may be copyrighted images, putting those threads in violation of copyright law and Literotica Policy.

If you have inadvertently posted such images, please edit them from your posts.

I'm awaiting word from Laurel about the posts in question, but as there are literally thousands of pictures posted to the forum, it may not be possible to review them all. If that proves to be the case, I will have no choice but to remove all threads containing pictures, and ask you to re-post those images which belong to you in new threads for images.

Sorry for the inconvenience. In the future, please do not post copyrighted images.

Best to all,

Can you be more specific?

Is this why it hasn't been possible to post an image into a thread recently, just the link?

No, that's a server space-saving html code feature. If you want to change it, go to your options screen in "Control Panel" and change the html "image enabling." That will change between the two images options (link or an actual image) in your browser. Others will have to change theirs to reflect their preferences.

It's not really possible to be more specific about the copyrighted images thingie, as I'm not all that clear on it myself. Update will be forthcoming as soon as I'm better informed.

Hi RS,

I see your posting about copyright images, and I guess some of those in a certain equine thread are such. I tried to take care and post only urls for the ones I put up.

Is there some reason a *thread* must be deleted if some images are improper? Surely you/laurel have the capabililty to delete a posting (or the image in it)? (I.e., leave the thread). I do understand, however if a thread is almost all improper, then it's simpler.

You should be proud of the good work you're doing, here.

Actually, I believe posting a URL is fine. It's when you upload/attach a picture file that is the issue. Those files must *not* be copyrighted. URL's are fine since they are not served by this server, but by another server (which has to deal with their own copyright issues).

Am I right in saying that Risia? Or are URL's to be questioned as well?

You're exactly right...it would just be a question of simplicity. Some of the image threads are thousands of posts long, and I don't have the time or energy to check the copyright status of each. If I find more than a dozen or so that are in violation, I"ll remove the thread and ask people to re-post the images that are legal. Inconvenient, but not life-threatening, n'est-ce pas?

To the best of my understanding, you are right, PBW. If I learn different, I'll be sure to inform everyone.
