COOL Author Chain Idea, and Possible Survivor Tie-In?

Ulyssa Kincaid, one of our fine authors, sent me the following in email today:

What do people call the woman on your home page? I
think if you can give her a pet name or at least a
single name--Like Cher or Madonna or something we
could begin an authors chain story about her. Might
be lots of fun.

I thought about it, and we never did give that girl a name, which seems a bit unfair since she's spent years stuck up on the front page greeting visitors on tiptoes with her ass in the air.

I've also been wanting to start a chain story for a while now, and I think that naming this girl and writing a story about her would be a flexible enough topic for a good chain.

I think Ulyssa's idea is excellent.

I noticed that Chain Stories was left out of the Survivor contest. So I was thinking...maybe we could add that category back into the contest, and have all contestants participate in this chain! They certainly wouldn't be the only ones allowed to participate - anyone who wants to can write a piece of the story. But this would be a lot of fun AND put y'all one step closer to winning the Challenge.

I definitely don't want to create extra work for the Survivor troupe. If this sounds like more hassle than fun, we don't have to incorporate the Survivor contest. However, I do think this would be a great idea for a chain story.

I'm avoiding the Survivor contest like the plague, but will stand on the sidelines and cheer. As for the chain story, well, Rah Rah Ree.

The reason I left out chain stories when I wrote the rules, may have been because I don't understand exactly how they work.

Is it a case where one author starts and another one picks up and writes for a while and so on? That was my impression. And writing a work dependant on someone else’s didn’t jazz me too much, but it might be something other authors enjoy, so I’d like to hear other input, please.

At the time I wrote the rules, it seemed a very...uneven category and one which didn't appeal to me as something to motivate me as a writer, but something I would only engage in for fun (like posting on the BB).

If I'm off the wall, lemme know. I have no problem including it in the contest rules (only takes a few minutes to change 'em) but I need to know a little more about them (I suppose I'll be reading after I post this). Is there a minimum/maximum length for a part of the "chain" etc.

So why is it not just that is to be her name? I am saying to be calling her "The Hot Sex Babe"... yahs?

Okay she may be a babe, but she's also a lady--
Should we call her Lady L? This harkens back to the 18th and 19th century tradition of protecting the innocent. Lady Elle? Litticia Eros? 2 extra letters added to the word Literotica.
