Just turning on the Cookie Signal to alert Gracie that I am awake.

Everyone else may continue sleeping.

Is that like the grail-shaped beacon on Monty Python's Holy Grail? 'Cause, if so, that would be awesome.

Actually, it's more like the Bat Signal but, I must say, Gracie is no Batman. Half of Gotham would be dead by now.

Luckily, lives are not depending on her timely arrival.

What are you doing awake at this...um...whatever hour it is where you are?

*Yawns, puts on pajamas, shuts off Cookie Signal*

Good night Gracie, wherever you are.

Working. Meh. It's nearly 3 am here. Night, Keroin.

LOL!!!

I took a long hot bath and went to bed about a half an hour after the cookie signal went on. Wish I'd known.

I wish!!!

Well, I've been really feeling the need to paint lately and haven't had time to do any. I always wanted to be one of those artists that felt a need to do their art. I guess I am becoming one.

I'm in the middle of sculpting medusa, and honestly I wish I could go to the school and work on her. *sigh* I'm so HAPPY with her!

Yeah, I love clay. My teacher has had us use just about everything, and I still prefer clay. I HATE metal. :(

Clay is great. Dangit. I just realized I left the clay whistle I made at a friend's house tonight.

Why do you hate metal? I liked working with bronze.

Well, I'm going to make eventually cast this waterfall I made in aluminum, but honestly the whole process of casting really bores me. I'm not real happy with anything that involves great amounts of heat. I'm too clumsy to ever feel safe around hot things.

Yeah, I'm pretty clumsy too. The only metal stuff I've done is with casting. I would like to learn how to weld though.

He (my teacher) showed us how. It was very frustrating. The darn thing kept falling apart on me. I am NOT patient enough for welding. There's one guy in our class who's welding this huge mermaid. It's REALLY cool! He hates clay, though. LOL Takes all kinds, I guess.

Sounds cool. It definitely takes all kinds. Even though I like clay, I prefer to work on the wheel instead of handbuilding.

I hate to leave you but it's past my bedtime.

I want to learn to make pottery, but I heard it takes a lot of upper body strength, and that's something I don't have. Maybe someday.

Good night. I'll be in bed in another twenty minutes or so, myself.

I don't have a lot of upper body strength. In my experience, it just takes learning to use what you have. Besides you don't have to throw a large amount of clay. It just will take someone showing you a few tricks while you're learning to make the process a little easier.

There's something tremendously soothing about working on a potter's wheel to me. It requires my concentration unlike handbuilding. I have to clear my mind to work on the clay and focus on it or I ruin the piece. I also have to calm myself because if I get too forceful with the clay I will ruin it.

I hope you get to experience it and that you have a teacher that can show you how to be successful with it.
