(Rudy Giuliani): "Hillary Clinton's answer to Congress about the death of these four brave Americans [in Benghazi] because of her failures as Secretary of State was 'what difference at this point does it make?'
False.
(Melania Trump): "Donald intends to represent all the people, not just some of the people. That includes Christians and Jews and Muslims, it includes Hispanics and African Americans and Asians, and the poor and the middle class."
Not according to his own statements.
(Rudy Giuliani): "This includes undoing one of the worst deals America ever made - Obama's Nuclear Agreement with Iran that will eventually let them become a nuclear power and put billions of dollars back into a country that the world's biggest state sponsor of terrorism.
False. The nuclear deal with Iran keeps them from becoming a nuclear power, and if Iran remains a state sponsor of terrorism, it is a member of a large club that includes the US.

Melania—or more likely her speechwriters—appears to have lifted at least one crucial section of her speech from the one Michelle Obama gave at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

Melania Trump on convention speech: 'I wrote it with as little help as possible'

TODAY

Hours before giving a speech at the Republican National Convention that has drawn charges of plagiarism, Melania Trump told TODAY she penned the address herself with very little help.

"I read it once over, and that's all because I wrote it with as little help as possible,'' she told TODAY's Matt Lauer in an exclusive interview on Monday.

****

Other possible explanations-

2) She's a liar.

3) She's actually Michelle Obama's speech writer. :D

4) A combination of the other 3 explanations.

So the help she got was from cribbing Michelle Obama's speech as little as possible.

It does sound like she's taking responsibility, something very unTrumplike...Er, NO, WAIT! She is taking credit, rather than responsibility. Something completely different. I think she's a true Trump after all.

Entirely possible she is the power by the throne so to speak. "I want to be first lady." "No nums nums for you unless you try." "Here's how you do it."

The Republicans couldn't even get the facts about Melania correct. They state on the program she received a college degree in design and architecture at the university in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Except she didn't. She went one year then left to pursue her modeling career.

But rather than admit its "mistake", just like the "mistake" of not plagiarizing someone else's speech, they leave it in to make her seem more human.

I noticed that after the speech, when Trump puckered his lips, she kissed him on the cheek instead. Maybe you have a working hypothesis.

"According to the FBI, ISIS is present in all 50 states. Think about it for a moment. Terrorists from ISIS are in every one of our 50 states," said Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst.

FBI agents have investigations of people in various states of radicalizing in all 50 states.

(FBI Director James) Comey has called the threat of domestic terrorism radicalization a "50 state problem," but those investigations are a far cry from ISIS terrorist cells across the country.
"Benghazi was about opportunities," said Mark Geist, a member of the security team that tried to fight back against the attacks. "Opportunities taken when we defied the stand-down orders. And opportunities squandered when Hillary failed to protect her people on the ground."
The Washington Post pulled the key passage from the House Intelligence Committee's 2014 report: "The evidence ... provides no support for the allegation that there was any stand-down order. Rather, there were mere tactical disagreements about the speed with which the team should depart prior to securing additional security assets."

"You know Donald Trump will secure our borders," former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Monday night. "His opponent has had her chance to do that, and she has failed. Hillary Clinton is for open borders."
Clinton has supported proposals for tighter border security over the course of her career, but she and Trump do have starkly different views on immigration and immigration reform.

PolitiFact took a look at other immigration proposals Clinton has supported or opposed and rates Giuliani's claim as false.

Thanks.

Fact checkers have jobs. They send their children to college. They read. They are not Trump supporters. They are not afraid of their shadows. They are not blinded by anger. Nothing works without facts. No fact checking got us into that mess in Iraq. Fact checking put a man on the moon, where Newt Gingrich said he would build factories to give Americans jobs. That's a fact. He actually said that.

Michelle's 2008 speech was itself apparently plagiarized from several books, one of them by a South African writer.

Or -- more accurately -- whomever wrote Michelle's 2008 speech for her.

Either way, the speech material was generic blather.

You miss the delicious humor and irony in this. This isn't just plagiarism of another source--this is Trump's wife parroting Obama's wife under the same initial nomination convention scenario. This is high comedy.

Was Ben Carson tested for drugs before he got up?

I was bored on a rainy day and flicked on the Fox News network to see what was going on. Saw Ben Carson linking Hilary Clinton to lucifer... was he serious?

But, yes, many people believe that Hillary is the Devil, but they don't think Ben knows, for sure, much of anything!

Has anybody fact checked this part of Ivanka Trump's nomination speech? I couldn't find it when I looked earlier today.

"This has long been the philosophy at the Trump Organization. At my father’s company, there are more female than male executives. Women are paid equally for the work that we do and when a woman becomes a mother, she is supported, not shut out."

In addition to that, I'd like to see backing up that he went through the paper to find people who'd had something bad to them happen and then invited them to his office and made their world wonderful again. Those would be nice testimonies to see validated.

A bit of fact-checking between conventions.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...trump-lee-harvey-oswald-rafael-cruz/87475714/

Donald Trump doubled down on his baseless insinuation that a photograph published by the National Enquirer shows Ted Cruz’s father with “crazy Lee Harvey Oswald having breakfast.”

A day after accepting the Republican presidential nomination, Trump touted the national tabloid as a credible source worthy of a Pulitzer Prize, and said the newspaper would not have run the photo if it was “wrong.” Moreover, Trump said, the Cruz camp “never denied” that it was Rafael Cruz in the photo with the man who assassinated President John F. Kennedy.

That’s all nonsense.

As we wrote on May 3, the thinly sourced story hangs largely on comments from an expert who told the paper that a photo of an unidentified man handing out pro-Fidel Castro leaflets with Oswald has “more similarity than dissimilarity” with a passport photo of Cruz’s father, Rafael.

The photo expert, Mitch Goldstone, president and CEO of ScanMyPhotos, a California-based digitizing photo service, was quoted in the Enquirer story — “Ted Cruz Father Linked to JFK Assassination!” — as saying, “t looks to be the same person and I can say as much with a high degree of confidence.”

Note the parsing of words. He wasn’t saying with a high degree of certainty that it is Rafael Cruz. He’s saying with a high degree of certainty that it “looks to be the same person.”

Goldstone told us in a phone interview that he never claimed the man in the picture with Oswald was definitely Rafael Cruz, and he called Trump’s unqualified assertion that it is Cruz “stupid.” Goldstone said he compared, by eye, the photo of the unidentified man in the picture with Oswald with a passport photo of a young Rafael Cruz, and concluded “They look pretty close.”

That’s the thin reed upon which this story hangs.

Yes, I'd enjoy that myself. I seem to remember people coming forward with personal stories when Ross Perot ran. I haven't heard the like this time. I'd like to believe it, but seeing how Trump's fundraiser for veterans was quick to claim glory and slow to pay, and after reading up on Trump University, and hearing about his casino business, I'm cynical.

As much as I loathe the institution of putting people in the gallery as props in the State of the Union Address- I really rather would have heard half a dozen ordinary people tell us how Trump changed their lives than hear about what a wonderful father he is for the 3rd or 4th time.
