Hey everyone, just looking for some outside perspective on an issue I'm having submitting one of my stories.
A friend of mine wrote me a "fan fiction" type story about 6 months ago. I LOVED it, and really wanted to do something special for him, so I wrote a complimentary "part 2" to the story.
My part two was one of my best works (I think) and I decided I wanted to share it with everyone. Keep in mind, this part two is entirely my own work. I was worried that the part 2 portion would not have made sense without part one, so I decided to try and post it, with an opening para explaining, and giving credit to my friend for being the author. I posted it with his permission, and it wasn't posted anywhere else on the net, so hypothetically, I could have just posted the story as my own and no one would have been the wise, but I decided to be ethical
So the story was rejected, as a result of myself not being the original author, and I was fine with that. I figured I'd just get Colin to make a profile and post part one himself... the problem NOW is that my part two (of which I am the SOLE author) has been rejected three times now. I chalked up the first one to a misunderstanding... maybe the editor was confused and thought it was the same part one again? But after adding several very clear notes to the my submission that I am the SOLE author of this story, it has been rejected again and again, and the reason given is simply that only the author of a story may submit it...
so my real question is, who do I ask about this? Is there a way I can have the issue withmy story explained to me by a not automatic response?? Is there a way to submit my story for a reasonable review?
