I've come to agree with you DS. I've noted that the "H"s on nearlly all the Contest stories blink on and off like lights on a Christmas tree. We both know why.

I'm finding it harder and harder to confine my stories to straight pornographic sex anymore, and find I'm more interested in the emotions that go along with it and the way we try and connect and express love through sex. Maybe that means I'm finally growing up, or maybe it means that I'm just getting old...

In any case, I'm happy to report that this story is not just two people fucking under the Xmas tree. Surely that's worth something.

You can find a link to my contest story in my siggy. I have no idea how it compares to the others in ratings. I do know that it has dropped 2 tenths of a point since being posted. It has gone back up a couple of times, only to drop back down. It's accumulating votes so quickly (had more votes in 24 hours than my first story has gotten in total in 2 weeks time) that I can't tell if Laurel is doing any troll weeding. Anyway, it is doing better than I expected it to do (it's only my second story), so for that I am happy. As long as I don't come in last, I will be more than satisfied, lol.

As usual, I won't win because I don't write the sort of story that wins on Literotica. Whether my contest stories go up or down a few points doesn't matter. I'd like 25 votes but...

On the other hand I do win, because my contest stories are more read, more voted on, and produce more feedback than my other stories.

My other stories also get more views when I have a contest story posted and some feedback (Not a lot, but I like it. - quote for UK readers).

The real gain is that my stories get read. Why am I writing if not to gain readers? OK. I admit it. I'd write if NOBODY read them. I have to write for my own satisfaction. Once a story is finished I'm writing the next.

It is worthwhile entering because of the exposure that the contests give to your writing.

Kinda weird that so many people read the stories but don't vote. I only don't vote if I would give the story a 1. (I have given one 1, but that was because the story was just appalling in every way.) And I assume those stories' authors probably prefer it that way!

I usually check for new stories each day. Just finished a quick visit and yours wasn't there. However, some bottom feeder with the handle "drab man" did have a story posted. You might want to have a heart-to-heart with him about trademark infringement.

Anyway, us macho, Non-Erotic guys gotta stick together, so be sure to let me and the other folks here know when your story gets posted. If mine could reach the thirties, anything's possible.
