Here's the deal. My boyfriend's boss asked me today about his IE browser not working anymore. He put Netscape on it because that way they could still get online to the companies they order from.

The error in IE is the Content Advisor. It is asking for a password, that no one remembers touching, and when I see what it is doing, it is identical to how mine acted with 5.5. I had to go to MS website and follow the instructions on how to fix the Ratings.pol file.

The problem here is, I knew the password in order to disable the Advisor. The owner and the rest of them at his work don't know it.

How can this be bypassed? A computer guy told them to uninstall IE and Netscape and then to reinstall IE alone. But, you can not just simply go to Add/Remove and have it uninstalled.

HELP!!!!!!!!

bump

just in case someone has logged in tonight and hasn't made it to the second page yet but can help with this

The only advice I can offer is to swtich to Opera, it's much faster anyways.

You CANNOT remove IE from Windows, its an integeral part of the OS...i'll look up my tech books for the fix and get back to you real soon.
