Bush has embraced Keynesianism and gun grabbing. I expect the next babies to be thrown to the wolves will be the accountability and parental choice provisions of NCLB - the only worthwhile provision and bitterly opposed by the school employee unions and their wholly-owned political party.

Uh... Bush didn't do anything--he wouldn't be the smartest one in the monkey house--except shuck and jive for the more sinister elements of the administration. The true hard-hearted bastards, the miscreants, are Karl "Mr Whisper" Rove, Dick "Different Agenda" Cheney, and Donald "I am the Pentagon" Rumsfeld (sp). Honestly, when it comes to brain power Bush couldn't fuel a wrist watch... which made him the perfect dupe for the big money and power crazed old geezers in the shadows. W Bush will be remembered as a Ronald Wilson Reagan without the charisma...

I just posted on another board that we're close to discovering that the necessities are becoming luxuries we cant afford.

I read a biography of the Bush Family by Kevin Phillips. Dubya isnt conservative. He and Poppy think theyre Plantagenet and Romanov blue-bloods, annointed, appointed, and ordained to rule the world....especially the oil bearing parts.

Dubya's idea of economic policy is to shake more coins from the jeans of the middle class, give most of it to his elite friends, and a little to the peons to remove the edge from their rage.
