Seems like those elected, married, and on our time (pay-wise), politicians want to make some laws so the mostly teenage interns have a fighting chance with them! They continue to impose morality laws on us! Mad enough to vote yet?!?

WASHINGTON — Rep. Brian Baird wants the U.S. House to change its rules to forbid legislators from having affairs with their interns — but not their colleagues' interns.

Sound conflicted? Hardly, the Vancouver Democrat said.

The question Baird bases this on is whether a lawmaker has direct authority over an intern. (So it's okay then? -LC)

From the circus of Monica to the tragedy of Chandra, Washington interns have gotten a bad name, and Baird wants to fix that.

His proposal wouldn't have forbidden either tryst; neither woman was having an affair with a House member and boss. Monica Lewinsky was involved with then-President Clinton, and Bureau of Prisons intern Chandra Levy was involved with Rep. Gary Condit, D-Calif.

**Is this the most obsene thing you've heard of? What about the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace? What about adultery by public officials on government time. (misappropriation)? Jeebus save us! :D

I am ever so impressed once again with their honor and integrity. And, oh the surprise, he's a Democrat!

I know not all politicians do it....

But the association is there. If one politician allows this to happen, they are all guilty! I've already fired an email off to my reps with my opinion, and the action I'm taking at the polls!
I know some of the interns are swayed by the immense power of government, but using your elected position to coerce someone into an affair, is criminal in every business in America, except it's Wash. DC!
Where's the feminist Congress/Senate representatives that are always speaking out for other women's issues, while ignoring their own backyard??? Maybe they're gettting a little sumpin' sumpin' too! :D

I'm just posting here because I saw a non-zero integer for the amount of replies and the last post belonging to lost cause. I was shocked ;)

Oh, and people should be able to fuck whoever wants to be fucked by them.

Absolutely Spin...

What curled my butt hairs is in every business in the US, an executive using their power and influence over a subordinate of the opposite sex is harrassment. In the House, the same thing is part of the "good ol' boy" type of politics I despise. Sure, if they wanna fuck they're going to, just don't have 'em pass laws against you or me telling us we can't engage in behavior they don't approve of! :D

Q*Why doesn't Congress use bookmarks?

A*Because they like their pages bent over!! :D
