I'm a grandpa (of sorts). I've been up all night long with my female pit bull Gertrude who whelped 10 count 'em ten pit bull puppies.

Gertrude and the pups are all doing well, but Gus (my male pit) is a nervous wreck. He's scared shitless of the pups.

Ran57, Gus is terrified of the pups, but he's even more afraid of Gertrude right now. Pit bulls are very protective of their young. She saw him walk past the door of her kennel and almost tore it down to get to him.

bknight, I won't have to worry about that problem. You see, I have several businesses, one of which is breeding pits.(My newest venture)

I got the dogs to start breeding them. I had several more, but a few months ago someone (can you believe another breeder with an inferior bloodline) shot three of them. One of them was pregnant. This is Gertrude's first litter.

Both Gus and Gertrude are out of championship stock.
To put it in a biblical fashion:

Gus was begat by Smoke.
Smoke was begat by Pothead Brother of Tab.
Pothead was begat by Jeep
Jeep was the World Grand Champion.

Gertrude was begat by Little Ike
Little Ike was begat by Ike
Ike was begat by Tab.
Tab was the National Grand Champion.

Seven of the pups have already been sold for a nice profit.
One is going to my son.
One is going to my daughter.
One is staying here for breeding stock.
