I harbor secret disdain and/or dislike for some hugely popular entities, be it movies, art, TV shows...

I have decided to come clean with some that come to mind

Where do you fight the tide of the popular?

Bored of the Rings
Titanic
Moulin Rouge
People Magazine

romance novels
All reality shows on TV
Friends
Dawson's Creek
Touched By An Angel
Seventh Heaven

Thomas Kinkaid paintings
beanie babies
ABBA
Celine Dion
James Earl Jones and those Verizon commercials

I can already feel the hate mail...

I'm appauld that ABBA is on that list

*calling up Guido the hit man*

You're my new hero, jp.

Add to the list Jimi Hendrix selling (or rather being used to sell) Pontiacs (or whatever) in t.v. commercials.

Right on

All I know is I hate musicals and I saw Moulin Rouge and thought it was really good up until the downer ending. The first half hour I kept expecting Johnny Depp as Hunter S. Thompson to come out and do a bit from Fear and lothing in Las Vages.

...and I do get a hard on for the Lord of the Rings. The rest of that stuff sucks.

LOL JP... I share alot of those.... others I don't bother with....
I have said many times that I think Thomas Kincaid is the devil incarnante and Martha Stewart is his handmaiden... don't even read romances... I do like ABBA... Hated the English Patient... Schindler's List was ruined by that girl in the red coat (did Spielberg have to hit us over the head with hand tinting to make his point?) ... It didn't like ET.... I only watch ER on occasion and thats just to see that hunk with the funny name...

No one can like everything... Thats part of the fun of life... arguing about your perspectives...

I must admit I have a soft spot for Johnny Depp
He is always on my "yes, please" list

I love it! LMAO

Way to go, pretty lady!

Probably not....

I don't think this is an ''average" cross section.... :)

and thats a good thing.... ;)

The most unrealistic things on TV - reality shows!

Automatic response reach for the remote!

Recent Gallup Poles indicated that had the titanic really not sank in nineteen whatever, Leonardo DeCaprio would've been a waiter at Max's Grill in the south Bronx.

Is it just me, or do all the new girl movie stars look alike?
They all look like Gwynneth Paltrow to me

I believe that

A Night to Remember was the definitive Titanic film

And I loved the musical

Forgot to mention The Lion King ... boring

Hi JP...clean breasts are always best.;)

I must admit that after almost a year of watching alost no TV I'm in a movie spurt at the moment. I've even sat through some very stupid ones simply for the comedic value. I'm sure I'll burn out on it but at least I know what people have been talking about. I feel like it's an educational update on pop culture.

Still can't do the sitcoms and drama's other than the occasional Law & Order. (I almost feel embarassed admitting to that one.)

It's tempting to give up cable altogether but I do like the news, bio and hx channels from time to time.

Don't forget the wasteland of

"Cats" and "Rent"...

hush you mouth SSK....
What Your gonna make me?...
shut up....
Neener Neener. Can't make me.

I cheered when Leo's character finally died in Titanic. You would not BELIEVE the dirty looks I got from the women, and the choked back guffaws that their husbands/boyfriends tried to swallow.

However, The Lord of the Rings is awesome... and that's not just my inner geek trying to break free.

I love Law & Order in all its permutations and CSI and the old Profiler (with the woman who always looked surprised)
