OK everyone I have a good question for you.
With the scare of AIDS and other diseases out there, it is understandible why everyone should use condoms during sex. But....when giving blowjobs...do you woman make the guy wear a condom also? I was just wondering cuz I know a lot of girls who dont think of it in the same way as actual intercourse. All the same stuff is transferred during oral as it is during normal. Would appreciate your input on this one here. Thanks!!!!

Cant get aids from a BJ unless she has a cut somewhere in her mouth. The disease is in the blood stream, not saliva.

I don't think his saliva is the only problem bodily fluid here- if she's doing that BJ correctly, his saliva isn't exactly what she'll end up with in her mouth.

If it makes you feel any better, i will say a couple words to clear it up. If they have open wounds/cuts then the virus will be passes from one person, to the other...whether the guy OR girl has the disease.

Creamylady, as much as I hate to do so I'm going to have to disagree with you here. A woman is not going to be infected with HIV unless she has a cut in her mouth. If you swallow infected semen is will end up in the acid of your stomach and it won't survive. HIV is a very fragile virus and it is almost impossible for it to survive outside human body fluids.

However, yes, it can live in saliva. Or rather, it is possible, though not likely. You'd have to drink about a gallon of someone's saliva before you even had a chance of catching AIDS that way.

Now, I'm not saying to not use a condom when you give a 'blow job' - its very easy to cut the inside of your mouth with out knowing and if your gums are thin for some reason its possible for the virus to reach your bloodstream that way. I don't have to add that anyone who has ever had a lip or tongue piercing has to use a condom.

Now licking a woman is quite low on the risk totem pole. A woman secretes little fluid and its licked up which means saliva has a chance to break down the virus's protein shell. Still, if you want to practice safe sex while going down that's easy enough.
Now, never use Saran Wrap. Are you listening Lass? It has small holes in it so the food can breath and is about as effective as Swiss cheese. While I'm at it, female condoms are.. weird. Dental Dams are somewhat extensive and you have to go to a dentist or medical supplier to obtain them.
Buy a condom. Cut the tip off. Cut lengthwise. Presto! Cheap and easy condom for a lady.

Then again, there's always the best way to protect yourself and that's to get a blood test with your partner and have a monogamous relationship.

There's always abstinence as well but.. who wants to do that?

Dude, I think you're missing the point... AIDS is also transfered by Seman. If he has AIDS and he cums in her mouth she is at risk... even if she spits.

Personally, i don't think i'd ever get involved sexually at all with a person unless i was sure they were 'clean' I'm not too sure about the argument with AIDS being transmitted through blowjobs or not...but if you know the person doesn't have AIDS or any other STD, then there's no reason to where a condom for a blowjob...during sex, the only reason would be to not get pregnant, obviously, but you can't get pregnant from a blowjob...at least, i don't think *dials g/fs number*

I think the BlueBird of Happiness was correct on that one, Nev. I guess you could look at it as whenever someone sticks their face between another person's legs, head is being given. Most OB/GYN's excepted.

well out of curiousity to wherther a gal gan get aid or hiv from giving a blowjob and swallowing i went to my doctor and aksed.

at first he gave me the queerest look, but after words he looked in a few books and made a few calls and he came to the conclusion that unless the woman has a terrible cut in her mouth she will not have any chance of contreacting either hiv or aids.

but still he does not suggest any woman going out and giving blowjobs just to keep from getting either cause there are other complications that can arise though not as deadly just as serious.

I have attended a briefing about HIV and AIDS before. And one of the hot topics during the discussion session is about the POSSIBILITY to be infected by the disease.
After all the discussion, it is "always" going back to ourselves.. How much do you want to take the risk to be infected by the disease.. We are all agree that it would be better to make the possibility almost zero rather than take the risk.. So, be monogamous, and check your partner before you do anything with him/her.
