Since 2004 over 300,000 explicit scenes have been filmed with no transmission of the HIV/AIDS virus.

Sex 300,000 STD's 0 Good odds, but does it teach our youth proper precautions?

The article only says "no transmission of the HIV/AIDS virus". It doesn't give numbers for other sexually-transmitted infections, several of which are more widespread and more infectious than HIV.

According to some sources, the industry does have a problem with gonorrhea and chlamydia. Here's an article that mentions significant levels of infection among adult actors - it's not a random sample of the industry so it may not be representative, but the numbers are still concerning: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lan...s-higher-than-in-nevada-prostitutes.html#more

That said, I don't know whether Prop B is the answer. Some industry advocates have pointed out that condoms may not give the same level of protection in porn-movie sex that they do in real-world sex - the conditions mean breakages are more likely, and condoms can themselves cause abrasions etc that increase vulnerability to infection.

And there's the eternal philosophical dilemma about protecting people from being exploited vs letting them make their own risk decisions.

To what extent the Porn vid industry is self regulating I have no idea; that being said, I would think most of the big time vid producers would make sure their actors are disease free as this is how they make their living and neither wouldn't want to jeopardize their livelihood.

On the other hand, there are a lot of sleazy fly-by-night Porn vid producers out there who use amateurs for what they can get from them, then discard them like so much garbage. I'd be willing to bet this is where most of the STD transmissions occur.

O have noticed that in a few videos, that some of the men use very transparent condoms. You can hardly see them. So there are a few vid Co's that do use them.

I don't notice any real difference in my viewing pleasure, but women may pay more attention to the cocks, I'm looking at the women.

Maybe they could start a vid series showing correct condom uses, strictly for educational uses. They could 'pump up the propaganda',kind of like GWB did in 2003?

If we could just get the South to slow their breeding, maybe we could win?
