Condom Sizing

I was looking at the Trojan Condom website and trying to find information about condom sizing. I know they make regular, Magnum (which are basically large), and Magnum XL (which are extra large). There is no respective size chart available. I was trying to help a friend who is much larger than average (about 9 inches and fairly thick) and didn't know whether to recommend the Magnum, or Magnum XL. If anyone can provide information about this, please let me know.

I believe they actually make those for a men's self esteem.

A regular condom is big enough and stretchy enough to fit over a person's head.

I'm sure whatever he uses he'll be fine.

My Ex was 9" and he could wear regular condoms!

Like said above, a regular size can go over a whole head and be blown up to twice that size.

regular will work MOST Of the time, the only guys I've ever seen have trouble are when they are REALLLY thick, it's like it fits, but it's so tight, it's SUPER hard to get on and is uncomfortable....I'd say get a few regular and a few magnum, MOST likely either would work

I always use a larger size, but I buy "ligestyles" brand. The regular ones seem to cut blood off and give me a ring around where the condom bottom was.

I always felt that the reg. size trojans were pretty tight on me and I had a bad habit of busting the codom during sex (not good). I'm not porn star sized or anything, 8" and on the thick side, but the Magnum XL's definitely fit a lot better.

My ex's length is on the low end of average. However, he's 8" around; that's roughly the circumference of a pop can, if you're wondering. (I lost my virginity to THAT--ouch!) He used to use regular Trojans without any complaints/problems.

My hubby, OTOH, is on the high end of average in length and girth. Back in our condom-using days, he found that regular Trojans were extremely tight.

Not that this is relevant. I just think it's interesting. :)

Reguarl condoms seem to make my penis turn dark red/light purple. I need to find bigger ones I guess.

Thanks for the replies. I disagree about it being a one size fits all, when it comes to condoms though. My friend said he couldn't even keep the regular sized one on...it was so tight that it kept sliding off and it left about three inches of his shaft uncovered. Maybe he didn't put it on right or something...I don't know, I'm just going by what he told me. I went and got him a box of magnums and he indicated they fit much better, but were still a little short. He signed up to get a free sample of the magnum xl which is supposed to be 30% larger...I'll see what he says about that.

In China, it seems that all comdoms are in one size, at least I have not found. I have no choice. Fortunately, it never troubled me.

As for your friend, why doesn't he just try by himself? Maybe there should be custom-made rubbers as well.

Out of curiousity, why are you buying condoms for your friend - why isn't he buying them himself?

If you're turning purple that doesn't sound like it being too tight to me. Hell a cock ring which is designed to restrict circulation doesn't do that!!

I'd bet you are having an allergic reaction to the latex and I'd look for something latex-free.

Also, pardon me if I'm wrong, but aren't condoms supposed to be tight in order to actually work?

Yeah, but a little too tight for me. I might try some trojan magnums, and see if those help...I'm kinda girthy as it is. But, maybe you're right about the allergic reaction. I guess I'll buy non latex ones from here on out.

I'm not saying that's a fact, I mean I'm not a doctor, it just sounds strange to me. I mean a condom shouldn't have enough tensile strength to cut off the circulation to the penis enough to discolor it. That's what made me think it might be an allergy. It's quite common I've found out.

Then who's Dr. Schleptaquim?

okay - i know nothing about this stuff - being that I've had such crappy luck with women that the need to even consider a condom has never come up.

I have the same problem about condom size - only in the other direction. Comparing to averages and the stuff you see online, i think im rather on the small and thin size. (i actually have no problem admitting that, and i even find it kind of amusing for some reason).

Anyway, are the regular size condoms tight enough in their natural, unstretched state, to fit me without fear of coming off? Also what is the best kind to get in regard to thickness (the girl im kinda seeing is a total virgin as well, so STD's are not a factor, only preventing pregnancy).

Thanks for your help.

As for are they too big for you, I doubt it. There are some that are marekted for a "slimmer fit" though. The best way is just buy a couple extra and try em out.

Now I'm not really well versed is condom types. I've really only used a couple brands and most of those aren't even made anymore. (Did I just date myself or what!)

Actually I date myself a few times a day, how else can someone get hurculean forearms like mine? :)

Thanks for the input
LOL, well there you go, you have the perfect opportunity for practice and testing. Call it a scientific testing environment. Hmm... Like Hyde clawing his way out of Dr. Jeckel I feel Dr. Schleptaquim coming out...

Proscribed Methods for Condom Selection.

Selecting the right condom for you is extremely important. One must balance fit, sensitivity and durability to find the right combination for you. The researchers at H.I.V.E.S., while normally focused on the female genetalia, have put together the following recommendations.

The first step is to procure samples of various brands of prophylactics. These can be purchased in sample packs or often procured free of charge fromt he local free clinic. Additionally, some manufacturers web sites off free samples of their products.

Once samples are procured, the empirical data can be obtained through masturbatory testing. This is a far safer method than testing various brands during actual sexual intercourse(known as the Trial by Fire method). Simply masturbate while wearing each brand or style of condoms. Rcord the following data on a chart, ranking each from 1-10, 10 being the highest.
- Ease of implementation(How easy was it to get the package open and the condom on)
- Sensitivity(how much sensation do you feel through the condom)
- Fit(Any slippage during the masturbatory phase? Any residual marks of restriction?)
- Ease of extraction(How easily did the condom come off)
- Durability(Any breakage during either the implementation, masturbatory or extracation phase)

At the end of your experiments, total up the scores from the 5 areas and this will give you the overal Prophylactic Quality Score. The comdom with the highest PQS is your brand, wear it with pride and confidence!

It is also recommended that you allow at least a 1 hour rest period between tests to assure that sensitivity in the penis is fully restored. Also you should masturbate at least once every 5 tests or once per day, without a condom to allow for a "control" record on which to base your other scores.

I understand what you were saying in your original post, sorry if I came off the weird way. But, I'm willing to guess its allergic reaction. I'll have to try other condoms.
