Con artist would fire you for giving honest advice

Thus spoke General John Kelly, former Chief of Staff to the con artist, at the Sea Island Summit political conference hosted by the Washington Examiner this weekend.

Needless to say, the con artist denied ever hearing those words.

"John Kelly never said that, he never said anything like that. If he would have said that I would have thrown him out of the office. He just wants to come back into the action like everybody else does."​

In other words, had Kelly said those words (he did, but for now let's assume he didn't), the con artist would have thrown him out for giving honest, truthful advice.
