Many times during the campaign, and many times since being elected, the con artist has said he will make Mexico pay for a wall between the two countries. Over and over he reiterated this unassailable fact.

To emphasize this point, budget director Mick Mulvane has told Democrats they need to agree to top funding priorities of the con artist which include the U.S. taxpayer footing the bill to build the wall.

Mulvaney told The Associated Press in an interview that “elections have consequences” and that “we want wall funding” as part of the catchall spending bill, which lawmakers hope to unveil next week.

Citizens who were informed of this decision to make them pay for the wall had the same general reaction: "But, but. . . Mexico."

UPDATE:

Now Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly is saying the con artist regime will be "insistent" that taxpayers pay for a border wall.

Kelly said he thought Trump "will be insistent on the funding" for the wall, a lingering question ahead of the spending battle lawmakers face as they work this week to keep the government's lights on past Friday.

To reiterate, the con artist repeatedly said Mexico will pay for the wall:

The third time O'Reilly asked, Trump said, "I'm gonna say, 'Mexico, this is not going to continue, you're going to pay for that wall,' and they will pay for the wall. And Bill, it's peanuts, what we're talking about."

Yet at the end of the same month, when the con artist met with the Mexican president, he said the two had not discussed who would pay for the wall:

So now, after flip flopping and lying for months, the con artist is now firmly on the side of the U.S. plebes paying for a border wall. No doubt about it. We're talking peanuts.

New Tweet:

Eventually, but at a later date so we can get started early, Mexico will be paying, in some form, for the badly needed border wall.

LMAO

Meanwhile, Mick Mulvaney,( surprise! The White House has a budget director.) denies that Trump's demand will cause a shut down.

I hope the president will back off,” said Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), also interviewed on CNN. “To think that he would consider shutting down the government of the United States of America over this outlandish proposal of a border wall.... That would be the height of irresponsibility.”

When I first heard Trump promise a wall that Mexico would pay for, I thought that the easy solution would be for the border wall to be on the Mexico side, built and funded by the Mexico government. With Trump’s deal-making and foreign-policy skills, it would be done in no time.

Trump sure seems to be doing it the hard way.
