Desperate to find any way out of the ever-tightening circle of investigations, the con artist asked the heads of the NSA (National Security Agency) and DNI (Director of National Intelligence) to state there was no collusion between his campaign and Russia. Both Daniel Coates (DNI) and Admiral Michael S. Rogers (NSA) flat out refused to comply with the requests. Both men deemed the requests inappropriate.
The con artist asked both men after former FBI head James Comey announced on March 20th the FBI was investigating “the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts.”
The conversation with Rogers was documented contemporaneously in an internal memo written by a senior NSA official, according to the officials. Such memos will most likely be turned over to both the special counsel investigating the collusion as well as congressional investigators.
For his part the con artist responded to news of the report with, "Fake!"
