Computer Illiteracy.

Hey, my 5 yr old has her own time on the computer. She plays her little "kid" games, mostly of the educational style, all the time. She has yet to do anything major to it. Even my 3 1/2 yr old son has his own time alone with the thing from time to time. Then again, the fact that my lover is a pc tech might have something to do with it. First sign of any problems and I'm ringing New Zealand for tech help.

I thought this was a serious post until I read to the end.
As I said kids and computers don't mix. Think of the phone bills you'd save, or, if you don't want to save them, think of the increased quality time you could have with your lover if you didn't have to discuss how to fix the computer each time!

Hey, who said I was complaining of my phone bills to New Zealand? Any excuse to ring my baby love is a good one, even if the little demons have worked their wicked ways on the little gray box.
Seriously tho, I do let my kids play their games on the pc. They do quite well, and my 5 yr old knows how to put her game disks in and get started. I trust her. Besides, if she kills it, I have a new pc coming soon and then she can have this dinosaur to kill all she wants. She's not touching my new machine. LOL

AhHa! A backup machine! The only time kids and computers do mix is when the machine is their's, all theirs and nobody else's.
But your kids will now assume that your new machine is better than theirs and they will pester and pester and pester until they get their destructive little fingers on it.
Stand firm. Do not look at baleful eyes or quivering mouths, ignore the pleading looks and that final weapon - the tearful tantrum.
You are supported in spirit by thousands upon thousands of people who have seen expensive equipment reduced to nothing more than a metal box with a funny looking, non-working TV screen stuck on top. Just keep chanting our mantra......
