Before you start, I am running ME as an OS on a P3. Yes, I know that I need to upgrade. But now is not the time to do that.

I am running a Compaq Presario and yes, I know. I need to change that too...But I can't afford to do that right now.

So here is the problem.

I am getting a Iexplorer has had error <unknown> then it either freezes up or shuts down explorer.

I am also getting ____has caused an error in Kernal 32.

Help. I have both spybot and adaware. Taken everything out but the bare essentials. Now the funny part. This doesn't seem to affect my the latest version of yahoo im. I can run my im program when I can't run anything else.

Any suggestions?

the blank is actually pretty important to find out which programs are having the errors.

For the most part Kernel 32 errors are one of two things. One there is a problem with on of your drivers. Update all your drivers to their latest version. Most times you can do this at the compaq website if everything is still stock and no modifications have been made. Just put the model number in under support and you should be good to go.

The other thing it may be is an error that what ever program that is causing it cant report. a Kernel 32 error is only one step away from a module UNKNOWN error. In this case I would start eliminating any running programs and using one thing at a time till you see what causes the issue.

You mention having both spybot and Ad-aware, as these are not active scanners make sure they are up to date with the latest spyware definitions. Also make sure you run them afterwards. Cool websearch morphs constantly and is near impossible to pick up if you dont have the latest definitions.

If all else fails try upgrading your version of IE. This can be done at the Microsoft website. Under downloads.

Lastly make sure all your OS updates have been installed. ME is a horrible monster if not updated. Updated it is a managable beast.
