Completely new

I'm totally new to the BDSM scene. At least, as far as doing it. I've seen videos and so forth, but never expected I would actually do any of it. I'm in love with someone who is moderately into it. She doesn't want it all the time, but she does enjoy it. I want to learn about it so that I can fulfill her needs. I need to learn about being a Dom/top, how to do it safely, how to do it well, and make it enjoyable for both of us. Any advice, stories, links to articles, etc would be great.

Also, talk to your partner and find out what it is she enjoys.
No point in learning a lot about protocol if that's not something she is into, for example.
