Payton Denson
25 y/o
5'2, 120lbs, strawberry blonde hair, bright green eyes, athletic build

The alarm rang beside Payton's bed and she slapped it off with an irritated growl. Another mundane day at her mundane job doing mundane paper work for her lazy boss... Hooray.

Sometimes she wondered why she had ever gotten into accounting. It was not a stimulating job and where she was now, she couldn't even move up the ladder until her supervisor quit. Sometimes it was pretty depressing.

Sighing, she got up and got ready for work. A light layer of makeup, hair up in a loose bun, a black skirt that hit just above her knees, a white button up short and a turquoise cardigan, paired with a pair of coral colored stilettos... The one sexy touch she allowed herself to add to her outfit.

She wolfed down a bagel and some coffee and then headed out the door to start her hour long commute. Two hours and a traffic jam later, Payton dashed into the office and went towards the meeting room where a staff meeting was happening.

Opening the door, all eyes turned to her. She blushed a bit and apologized. "I'm sorry I'm late. Traffic on the 80" she said as she sat down next to one of her coworkers.

John Sutherland
26/m
6'2"..... 175 lbs.... light brown hair...... blue eyes......athletic build

Today started just like every other day did for John. The alarm went off at 5:00 am, he got out of bed, put on his running clothes and headed out onto the streets of the city for his daily run. He paid extra in rent to live in the city, but, to him, it was worth it so that he could sleep a little later, get his run in, and still be to work on time.

After his run, which this morning was 5 miles, he showered and started to get ready for work. As he got ready he looked at his phone to see if there was anything special happening. He noticed that there was a staff meeting that was placed on his calendar late last night. That was odd, but, it was not the first odd thing that happened at the accounting firm where he worked.

He put on a white shirt, dark grey suit and a blue and grey tie. H looked at himself in the mirror. He was not a vain person, but he always wanted to look good for work....you never know when a bigwig would show up, and being dressed improperly could slow down his progress. He wanted to do more than he was currently doing.

John grabbed a bottle of water out of the refrigerator and headed out the door. It was only 6 blocks to work...a leisurely walk. He walked into the lobby of the building and stepped onto the elevator with all of the other suits. Sometimes it really bothered him to think of himself as a suit, but this was the path he had chosen. He walked into the conference room and there were only a couple of people there. He took a seat and greeted the others as they arrived. As the meeting was beginning the door opened and he turned to see who it was that was arriving.

Payton quietly took out her pad of paper for taking notes in case she needed to write anything down. She watched as their supervisor stood up and cleared his throat.

"Now that we're all here, we can begin".

The first ten minutes he spoke of the normal business going ons in the building. Boring stuff. But then he caught Payton, and every other persons attention.

"Now the real reason for this meeting..." He paused slightly and looked around. "An opportunity for career advancement will soon become available, as I have decided to finally retire". He frowned as the room erupted into noise and whispers, and cleared his throat.

"From now on, you will all be watched closely in order for the right person to be chosen to take over this position".

A few final notes were discussed and they were all dismissed to do their duties. Payton sat for a moment, thinking. This was it. Her chance to advance in the company. Maybe her only chance for a while. She desperately needed this.
Still deep in thought she picked up her briefcase and turned to walk out of the room, but instead bumped head first into a coworker.

"Oh, sorry!" She glanced up. "Hey, John, right? Sorry about that" she said, smiling sweetly at the handsome man she had collided with.

John had taken the job with this company for the experience. He didn't see himself staying with them for very long. He wanted to learn the business and then find a company that provided opportunities for growth. This company had a lot of dead wood at the top and it didn't seem like any of them were going anywhere soon.

He saw the woman come in as the meeting started. Meh had seen her around the office, but had never had any real interactions with her other than an occasional head nod as they passed one another. She was very attractive, and always seemed to have extremely high heels on.

John was shocked when he heard that his manager was retiring. He thought they were going to carry the old coot out in a body bag. It wasn't like he did anything for the company, but there had been no effort to get rid of him either. Suddenly, John started to rethink his strategy.....maybe a couple years as a manager here would increase his chances of finding a better job somewhere else.

He started to think about what he had to do after he heard the retiring manager say that each of them was going to be scrutinized very closely. John wasn't worried about his job performance, because he was always sure to do things the right way. Now, he had to figure out a way to do it even better.

As he got up from the conference table, he was focused on what he needed to do. He was in a zone and oblivious to everything and everyone around him. Then, the woman who was late bumped into him...snapping him back to reality. "Yes. My name is John. Don't worry about it. It was probably just as much, if not more, my fault. I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing."

"I'm Sienna" she replied when John apologized to her. "Um, that was some announcement. I never would have expected that. Are you gonna go for the job?"

She knew some people were happy with their current jobs... Unlike herself. She glanced down and noticed a little of her rapidly cooling coffee had spilled on his jacket when they bumped into each other.

"Oh no!" She said. "I'm so sorry! Here, I have a napkin right here". She snatched the napkin from the table and handed it to him. "At least it is a dark suit I guess, she said grimacing.

She watched as he dabbed at the spot on his jacket. Her eyes admired his strong looking hands. She had noticed him occasionally around the office and appreciated his sense of style as well as how handsome he was... What girl wouldn't?

He looked at her and smiled. Then, he responded, "I am not sure whether I am going after it or not. I had never thought about it before just now. Obviously, his retirement means I should probably consider the possibility at least."

He saw her extend her hand with a napkin. That was the first time that he realized that she had spilled some of her coffee on his suit jacket. "No, relax. Don't worry about it. I need to take it to the cleaners anyway." He dabbed at the spot where the coffee spot was, and smiled at her.

"Are you going to go for the manager position? I have heard people talk about your potential. They say they think you could be someone who is very good at controlling her subordinates."
