I've been to some crazy ones over the years, the best being a costume party where my whole department dressed as the cast from Grease... but tonight's should be interesting. It's a new job for me, but due to the size of the town I live in, I know everyone pretty well...

But I'm thinkin that actually attending this party may be an indicator that I'm a redneck... what do you think?

It's being held at the Community Center... the 'bar' will consist of a keg of Nat Light... we're supposed to bring our own food.

Who else has company parties to attend, and are any of them more redneckish than mine?

My office party? I'll be the only one there *G*. The boss is going away for the holidays, so I'll probably just join everyone, here at Lit.

I don't think mine qualifies as redneck.... but I could try! I just have to think on it, a spell ;)

Going to my husband's party tonight. It's being held at one of the hotel/casinos in town.

The only way I'll make it without dying from bordom is knowing that we'll head off to the swing club afterward. :)

just got back from squadron party. :D good!

half a bottle of wine. i don't drink much.

feeling good

Yes it sound like rural America to me.

Although I prefer to think of it as the good life as verses the redneck life.

Mine thoroughly sucks.

Essentially, my agency combined a twice-yearly meeting with the Christmas Party. All the officers get together, from the Captain on down to the lowliest officer, have their meeting, then have a Christmas luncheon. The dispatcher from the other office int he region gets to go, too, but that's cool because she isn't quite a dispatcher - their station doesn't actually dispatch. They just have a radio for monitoring purposes. The party usually burns up most of the day. The spread isn't bad, folks bring in little treats, there are gag gifts. Hokey, sure, but I enjoy hokey.

But I'm a Dispatcher and, as such, ahve to stay behind and answer the phones and work the radio, not that there's anyone who'll be using it. They're all at the party. One year, my boss tried to get permission from HQ to shut our station down for a couple hours and let our HQ run things until then, just to let me get a bit of the party but he was flatly turned down. So there stuck with having to bring an officer in for a bit to let me go to the party, but the last two years, it hasn't happened.

So I get whatever someone remembers to bring from the luncheon for lunch, which wasn't much last year - the bread was stale and the sandwiches were pretty sad.

Oh well, at least I kept myself occupied with Christmas music and decorating the deer head mounts in the lobby. Deer look strangely cute with Santa hats on.

Did they load the house up on one of those trucks?
Or do you live in a mobile home?
Trailer?
Tent in the desert?

Well, it wasn't so bad.

I had a lot to drink... raspberry mudslides, tequila rose, and blackberry merlot... and then, as i'm sitting there talking to the district manager, a guy rolls up what was, quite possibly, the largest joint I have ever seen. And I'm looking at the big bossman, and thinkin "boss man - joint, boss man - joint...) I decided to take the joint... there's always another job out there, right? :D

I have gone to one company XMas party - every company I have worked for hasgiven formal parties, not just a fun party where people show up and have fun, but they expect people to at least show up in a suit and tie, sit there while the music is played so loud nobody can hear anybody else, etc. - so I just don't go. Not my idea of a party.

We can make arrangements for a private party if you like ;)

Getting drunk and stoned seems like an entirely reasonable response to an office party.

We made an appearance at R's last night. It was massive - about 1000 people. I had 4 7&7s in the course of 2 hours. The worst part of it was when the drunken "choir" got up and sang Christmas song parodies. ~groans~

I have been to some pretty wild ones over the years.
Some where I did things I dont even wanna think about LOL.

As for this year. its yet another one, though this year is probaly gonna look a lot like friday night after work beer party.

I dunno when its gonna be though, but sometime soon I recon. good God, I hope we're not stupid enough to go two tracking in the Beast around Midnight again......

Why would you want another job?

Because your "supervisors" have a good time?

Are you a dire-hard Conservative?

Are you a Liberal?

Inquiring minds want to know...
