Common plot, different writers.

Umm, that's not a plot. There's no reason not to use it as an author-sponsored event, but you might want to call it something different.

According to the Cambridge Dictionary (among others) the plot of a story is:

To specify a plot you would need to give a sequence of events that comprises a story. It would be best done without also specifying characters, setting, theme, conflict or point of view, which are each different components of a story.

I'm not sure what you've defined, but it's similar to @ChloeTzang's "One Night in XXX" event, except that she didn't specify anything about characters. She also didn't specify a plot, but she didn't mean to.
You are right.
Plot is what it is.

So you can call the above a base line or anything that suits better.

And Yes, we are requesting for a narrative of your own, with your own set of scenes and backgrounds and characters. It's all open and up to the writer.
Everything as mentioned in the details above in my message.

Takes me months to poop a story out. Plot goes through multiple iterations before I feel like it's cohesive. A time limit results in me treating the story like a joke, such as the two Halloween submissions I made last year.
Same here as well.

I takes months to etch out a story, but there are few things that come out instantly.
I've seen writers who write 6k to 20k words in a day or two. Kudos to them.
Unfortunately many of us can't do that.

But we have done literotica challenges in a months time, aren't we?

It could be an interesting idea, but...
For me, it must be more specific.
In your original statement you said different writers writing the same plot / story in their voices slash narrative.

Then later in the thread you switch it to becoming an open event, here you can write anything.... Completely different plots...
So you've lost me... It can't be both.

Either, everybody is writing the same story, or they're not...

The reality is, we are already doing the latter... telling different stories, in different genres...
You need to decide the rules.

just my thoughts...

Cagivagurl
It will be different stories in different genres, different eras, different characters, different backdrops, etc. It's open and upto the writer.

But the common thread would be "One day in that man's life" where he would enjoy with many women.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you mentioned the gay element in your earlier post... Many women??? Do you mean many partners???
Is it limited to that man's life, or could it be that Woman's life???? That person's life if they are gender fluid???? Or pansexual...
I'm still confused what you are suggesting.

The man was what we had in mind.
A day in that man's life, with many women. Not partners, one of them could be. Of course everyone can't be partners.

"A man having multiple circumstances with many men/women in a day's time."

Given my personality, if presented with a specific plot I would probably do my best to start out with a standard interpretation but then subvert expectations in every way I can. (Which will earn me a rating of 1 star from the people whose expectations I subvert, boo hoo for me.) For example the Day In The Life With Scads Of Partners idea probably turns into "WoRsT cAsE oF bLuE bAlLs EVAR!!!11!" in my twisted hands.

Then let it be that way. There are no constraints. Do it as you want.

On working on same plot .... what if we work on a same story and let each writer work a separate plot and in end we can combined it together. For ex: You will assigned each chapters and then others will write it by there own.

That's chain stories, you are talking about.
Here it's going to be just one story. In different narratives by different writers.
I'm sure you will have a different take on that idea. 😊

Hello everyone.

How are you all doing?
I'm not actively available here, but on and off, here and there for now.

But... when I was talking to a friend here, I suddenly came up with an idea of writing on a certain plot from the perspective of different writers.

That means - There is a "certain Plot" all of us would be writing on the same plot in our own styles, in our own narratives, in our own thoughts and analysis. How would you all feel about this?

If anyone is interested in pitching in for this, please DM me.

And, with the other writers I think should be part of this, I would share this link with them on DMs. So please don't hesitate and tell me if you have any time to write on a common plot in your own style. We all can submit the story to Literotica with common tag so that it comes under this.

Tell me soon. 😊

Take a look at some of the events organized here and spell out what your event is about.

What you outlined was

Plot : This is about a man, (age is upto you to etch out) a big time player, and he could be anything, a poor man, a rich man, ceo, mafia, nerd, son, gigolo, werewolf, gay, BI, etc, enjoying women in different phases of their lives.
The women could be a student, wife, doctor, Maid, secretary, teacher, aunt, mom, sister, old flame, stranger, hooker anything is possible. He enjoys with many many women in JUST ONE DAY, under different circumstances.
It's just about one day of his life but with different woman. Not In a gang bang or group orgy, but under different circumstances of the day.

So I'd suggest calling it something like "One Day in a Player's Life"

1. Theme: A big time player (you define your player: a poor man, a rich man, ceo, mafia, nerd, son, gigolo, werewolf, gay, BI, etc.) enjoying different women over one day. He enjoys many women over one day under different circumstances
2. The whole story, start to finish, has to take place over one day (midnight to midnight)
4. Within the theme, any subject, any category, any length you like.
5. Author must copy and paste the phrase "One Day in a Player's Life" in the "Notes" field of the submission. We recommend that you COPY & PASTE it into the NOTES field to avoid typos.
6. Please us "One Day in a Player's Life" as a story tag.

I think you mean a common theme rather than a plot, and what you would want is an "Event" page on the site that you can organize with Laurel to get into the lit calendar and setup. As you can see, there's one to two events a month already, as well as the competitions - you want to give a reasonable amount of lead time - my suggestion is a minimum of three months from when you get your list of authors / contrubutors firmed up.

End of June might work - there's a gap there but it's also short notice. Mid-October might be more doable., but look at everything that's on and see. Thing is, you have a finite list of authors who will write for these things so you have to work with everything else they may have on.

Yes, your details are right.
It's really simple.

But it's not a event as such. We just write the stories and submit it to Literotica with an hash tag and note, that's all. No other complications.

We are just submitting within the time as normal stories. We don't have to worry about other events or challenges.

It's another story in your work list. With the same theme as you are saying.

Ahhh, got it. So you want to keep it informal. No worries and have fun :)

A string of ‘one day’ stories is not really a plot unless you introduce some background and have it lead somewhere.

Hello people.

How are you all doing?
So anyone decided on anything?
Should we summarize the final list of writers doing this? Who have confirmed with me so far?

Tell me so that we can get ahead with the next part - "Actual writing" 😁

The final list of writers who have confirmed so far is as below.
Please add if I have left out any, please delete if you don't want to try it anymore.

1] @calmlikeabomb
2] @JDlit71
3] @Rob_Royale
4] @1KinkyIndianGuy
5] @Light_Yagami
6] @kanika_k
7] @Behindthesins

Other writers who spoke to me but have not yet confirmed, please confirm. So that we can start off with the actual writing of the story.
I will try to squeeze something in but please give us a reasonable time frame. I have two other stories in the works and a full time life.

Take your time sir.
Just use the tag and add the required note.
And once it is posted, please share the link here. 😊 Happy writing. ✌️👍
