Commissions, out of curiousity

A number of popular sites for creative artists (usually of the more graphic persuasion) have artists that take commissions. I'm sure most reading this know what I'm talking about but essentially, 'You pay me this much, I give you a custom piece of my art.' Generally the artist is one the customer likes so he knows what to expect.

Anyways having loitered around the Story Ideas board for a while I saw a lot of ideas that people post solely in the hopes that someone else will write them.

And I was wondering if any of the authors around here have ever thought about writing stories for money. Obviously writing a story is different from drawing a picture, but I'm sure there'd be a demand for it

If this is against the rules or anything, feel free to ignore/delete this post.

In the furry community story commissions are a thing. Prices run $15-35 a short story, and the author retains all copyrights and distribution rights (unless the author is particularly dumb and/or clueless).

It's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure I'd be able to do it myself. I find it hard to get going on something that I don't have a direct 'want' to write. I think it would be difficult to write what someone else wanted, rather than what I fancied doing.

There are quite a few here that already write for money. E-books, novels, both erotic and mainstream. I've also seen several people come through the AH wanting custom stories written. I've done one and it was an easy fifty bucks.

As for the story idea forum, I've been there a bunch of times but never found anything original and interesting enough to pursue.
