Am I the only writer, here, that no matter how quickly I try to post a comment, there are usually 20 to 40 comments posted BEFORE mine? Just wondering.
 
On a story or in a thread here in the AH?
Most of the stories I comment on aren't popular enough to have that many comments.

My comments generally take about two days to appear. I have not yet been blessed as an immediate commenter. Many of us authors are in the same boat.

Like KG says above, very few stories I comment on have that many comments.
 
Yeah, commenting on your own stuff seems to have the longest delay. Or maybe that's just my perception. Makes me wonder if it falls into a separate moderation bucket.
 
Do you mean in the forum?
I don't find that either, honestly. Even the popular threads don't move that fast.
 
Yes, I realize that, but I'm behind the 8 ball, because both Laurel & Manu answer to BlackRandl1958, who doesn't allow me to comment on hers or her father's stories. Hint, HardDaysKnight is her father.

As author, you can delete BlackRandi1958's comments.

Or turn off commenting completely.

My late wife and I USED to be friends with Randi. To the points of exchanging family photos. The on May 5, 2024 I submitted a story with a derogatory word she and hundreds of writers use, and every since she has ghosted both of us for something I did. Not my wife.

And why do you think she controls Laurel/Manu? Because your comments, like most everyone else's, are moderated?

What is that threshold? I didnt even know comments were moderated because mine have always shown up immediately but I have no idea how I met any sort of threshold

My comments not only get moderated, they've changed my words in one of them.
