Comments That Make Your Day

Looks like he failed 'Book Lernin' in school. Which makes you wonder how he manages to both read and comprehend what you've written. I think some people must have loads of time on their hands if they've got nothing better to do that dump on someone's work, probably thinking he's clever.
Look at it this way. They're stuck being that person, which is punishment enough. It's one of those 'there but for the Grace of God' moments. If they really are like this, they have my pity. Even Nazis wouldn't want them in their ranks, so it's lonely.

I've gotten several nasty anonymous comments over the last few days that I suspect are from the same source. It looks like he's going through all my stories and taking pleasure in bashing whatever other readers seemed to enjoy.

For "The Dare" which came second place in a Nude Day contest, he commented:

Way over the top, incredeible stupid crap

For my Romance "Only You" which got almost all positive comments, he commented:

A Hollywood star and the desperate small town slut

"All I Want for Christmas Is Her", he commented:

Couldn't even get past the first chapter. Evan is a desperate pussywhipped dick for 'playing' gay and she is a clueless slut.

There were a few more, too. But at least he's consistent, and seems to hate everything I write. Which always makes me wonder why these people keep reading, if they're not enjoying it.

Sounds like LW is leaking.

Incredible.

It's a very weird form of flattery when a committed anti-fan fully reads your stories just to hate them -- but it IS flattery.

I just got another one, that made me laugh. "Breeding Bull Ch5" about a guy who sidelines as a breeder of willing women, got this comment:

Keep your storyline straight: It was "a good 9 inches and thic"; but in part 5 it's now 8 in. Your trying too hard to get so many stories started, up and running, and completed that you can't do any of them full justice. So what started out as a good 5, became just a 4 in the end.

Normally I don't get into sizes, but since this was a Fetish story, in the first chapter I did say that he was packing 9 inches. And it looks like I messed up by the fifth chapter and shorted the guy an inch. Which in turn, caused the reader to drop me a point in my score -- which I guess is fair, kind of tit for tat.

Although, I contend that it was cold out on the hood of the car that night where he was getting busy with his latest conquest, which could account for a little shrinkage.

What ofbuttons said. They've gotta let that toxicity out somewhere.

Anyone remember the season 1 episode of Star Trek: TNG where they came across a being made of pure malevolence and hate that had been shed by the beings of the planet?

It ain't that different. They spew the hate or it kills them. You're more evolved than they are, so just ignore it.

Or enjoy it, I love seeing how vile they can get, honestly. They lash out at some mirror they've imposed over you. They don't write, they can't. So they take it out on others who do.

Be proud that you've triggered something in them. It means your writing has a point. They just don't like it. Who cares?

I've gotten to the point that when I post a new chapter in my series, I know I will be met with the same anonymous and one named individual who will show up to read it and accuse me of abuse within hours of it being published.

Honestly, I will be sad if they don't! Also, it only encourages people who like my story to chime in, which warms my heart. Win win.

I always enjoy when one of my readers gets annoyed enough to comment on another reader's comment that was just plain nasty or stupid. I just sit back and laugh, and let them argue over it.

If they read the story to the end, they liked it.
How many times have you started reading a story and stopped in the middle because it was boring or stupid? The same goes for all readers.
Apologies, I meant that they don't see what was reflected back at them in my mirror analogy. I wasn't very clear.

Yes, I've stopped reading stories that lost my interest, certainly.

Does make you wonder though, who in their right mind would slog through a twenty or thirty word story that they're not enjoying, just so they can get the satisfaction of commenting: "Well that sucked!"

Lots of people with nothing better to do, ie, behave like beings with opposable thumbs.

I mean this as no offense to the authors but I had no idea people did such close readings of the stories. Major story line changes, ok, fair complaint. But an inch here or there…

Some horntooting in the attachment, while we're here -- especially nice to receive after immediate negative commentary and a lot of trolls in the previous chapter.

I especially appreciate the comment suggesting the negative commentators go bond over Andrew Tate, made me laugh. And also one of my favourite authors on Lit came and dropped some some praise, which qualifies for making my day.

I thought the same thing. It's like a fisherman's story about how big his catch was. Who really cares if the guy had eight inches or nine. Obviously, this reader did, if he read closely enough to pick up on a single missing inch!

I've been screamed at for the typo of 'Tribly' instead of 'Trilby', and told I suck as a writer and need to chop my hands off so I can't write any more.

Imagine being screamed at and told to chop your shmoo off because you got the dimensions wrong. Yikes...

Lots of people suck! I’ve got it easy. I’m a girl and I post photos so I don’t get much negative comments. (Thank goodness) I get the folks that aren’t stoked I won’t post nude photos and unsolicited pics or ideas of what they think I’d like to do with them but no one yells at me.
Plus, when they complain I just remind them of the old kindergarten adage, “you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit!”😂😂😂

They should be stoked you write and share with them!

We should be stunned that consumers of free erotica feel so entitled that they choose to be vile, but they're protected by the putrid ichor of anonymity when they comment.

Please understand, this doesn't mean that all anonymous commenters are cowards, but all cowards comment anonymously. There's a difference. Lots of people have perfectly valid reasons to hide their identity. Being hateful never will be one, but that's lost on the hateful and the cowards.

I have a few people who say they're stoked when they see one of my chapters go up, that's gratifying. Now if only there were legions of them... *smiles and looks off into the distance wistfully*

Thankfully, we also have thoughtful readers who leave positive comments that seem to appreciate the time and effort we put into a story. Otherwise, I for one, would throw in the towel and stop writing.

Never stop writing because of the hateful and imbecilic. Write for you, and for the people who like what you do, to Hell with the rest.

Besides, I've discovered that your name here is very apt. Your stories are smutty, and they're fun. So go you. Keep it up.

Gee thanks! How kind. Though occasionally I do wonder if it's worth the time and effort, especially when I get dumped on, over half a dozen times in a single day.
But since I do love to write, even it's only for me, I don't think I'll let a few obnoxious jerks have the pleasure of pushing me off the website.

I confess that I have - once or twice. It's kind of like a sinking ship - I have to see if the love interest gets shredded by the whirling propellers of doom.

Also, I always cheer for the sharks. I'm broken that way.
