Comments That Make Your Day

I had a few more comments on A Cold Dish overnight.

@Ghostwriter100:
Hahahaha! Holy SHIT that was a brilliant twist within 750 words! Well done my man, nailed it.

Anonymous:
Hey, that was different but I liked it very much, nice twist. I loved "sent her to your bed." Did I ever have good laugh, as a work FWB, would sometimes have me slipping into my bed rather late but very satisfied. Nice.

But another Anonymous wrote:
Maybe this should have been under incest

But if it was under I/T, then the twist that so many comments have highlighted wouldn't have been much of a twist. Besides, I tagged it "incest" and "brother-sister". Not that there's even any sex: it's under Non-Erotic for a reason.

But thank you all for reading and commenting!

I am blown away by a PM that I just got. To think that a reader thinks about my characters outside of my stories... I'm floored!!!

Hey Freya! Hope this msg finds you well. Never reached out to other Literotica members, but this was too good to not share. This tweet came across my timeline and the first thing that came to my mind was Cynthia and Katie. Am I crazy or does this fit??

@sinfantasy added a short but sweet comment on A Cold Dish:
Masterfully done!!!

And @Eosphorus commented on one of my older stories, Closeness, which is about maintaining physical distance during the pandemic:
This was a great read. I’m sure some variation of this happened untold thousands of times during those years. It was therefore very believable. Also, real sexual desire and tension.

With the windows open, a passerby might’ve gotten quite the earful! 😃

Nicely done.

Thank you both for reading and commenting!

I wonder which comic that comes from and whether the artist has ever read your stories? The only thing is the reason Cyn would want Katie's body is to eat it up! Also Cyn volunarily in a Gym? Or was that at school? 18+ obviously! 😉

I wouldn't say this makes my day in any way, shape or form. But I wanted to share it anyway.

From email:

You're story, "The simplicity of words," was absolutely beautiful. It is like the story of my life. In my case, my Lea died in a crash, and I've lived my life going through the motions for nearly 10 years now. In that time, I have never cried for more than a couple seconds from pain... I cried the entire time I read this story, and then read it twice more.

I'm not happy that someone went through that. But a bit of me is... pleased is the wrong word but I can't think of the right one, so lets go with pleased.

A bit of me is pleased that I was able to touch them in some small way.

Sounds like you delivered much needed therapy for her/him, something to give you a small glow of a fellow person helped.

“That was sad
You wrote it great”

“Extremely well written for a 750 limit.
Thank you! 5”

“There's a lot of pain in a few words. Good job and lovely. This is also a part of life.”

“You managed to tell their whole life together in a small amount of words, great job.”

“Nearly brought tears! 5🌟

“Holding back tears.”

“That was beautiful 👏

This, Ladies and Gentlemen, is why I write. It is not about the money, obviously, or even the scores. It is about reaching people, people who are kind enough to let me know that my hours of toiling over the keyboard have meant something to them.

From my recent story: You Were Always on My Mind - 750 Words

"A great story, thank you, dmallord, for sharing it here. The mention of the USS Sanctuary kind of surprised me. I was aboard that floating hospital for a few days in 1969. I was in the Marines, and a grunt. After they got me all straightened out I was back to the bush and hunting Charlie. Thanks again for the story, I can empathize with the MC about parts of it.
5 stars"

I've had some really nice comments on 'A Crack In The Glass'. My first venture into exhibitionist / voyeur (as an author, I mean...), and it was a travelogue based on personal experiences in Japan but sanitised a little. i wasn't sure how it would be received because I tried really hard to respect cultural protocols and the integrity of the MCs, which meant no sex in the Japanese onsen (there are some very unrealistic pornos that break that one!) and also not having the MCs falling into bed with each other (but instead, the last scene is that the lead female calls her mother and begs her to come and visit for some non-erotic bonding time..). So I worried it would be seen as just too tame and boring for the category. However, it seems to have paid off, judging from the responses (example below), and people have been relating it to their own experiences. That's just a really nice feeling when you make decisions based on the integrity of the story and the readers respond (note to self.... do that more).

An absolutely amazing story, not at all what you expect on this site. I hope you will post the next chapter detailing how it went with her mother. Thank you very much. Only 5 stars, the bastards won't let me give you more.

I loved this story… you painted a beautiful picture.

I enjoyed your story. I have been to all the places you mention on Kyushu. I particularly recall two things in Beppu. First the large steam vents in the streets. And, second, the extremely hot water in the Onsen I visited. Thanks for stirring these recollections.

Wonderful, inspiring.

What is spare time? Between Jo, our son Donnie, my adopted parental units, writing for pay, writing for me, there is no time left spare or otherwise.
I had someone comment on one of my stories that they thought I was probably a real author who just writes on Lit in their spare time.

It's a while ago now, but it was a comment I received on my first story, What Katie Wants.

It said (cut for a little brevity), "A wonderful story. And so well written. Your ability to capture and articulate the female mind and mannerisms is very special. So many future chapters come to mind."

It was my first time releasing an original work of mine into the world, and I'd never written a story with a female protagonist before. It was thus very reassuring for me to read that people were receptive to the way I'd written it.

Add me to those who thoroughly enjoyed this sweet and fun story, and gave it all five stars !

This was great! Thank you!

The first four comments on my Pink Orchid frolic Hookup Sex.

I posted my first strictly lesbian story. As a guy writing a lesbian perspective I wondered if it would be believable. Then it got this comment:

"Absolutley loved this story. Oh to be Jess enjoying the attentions of those two young hungry women. It kept me on the edge all of the way through with a couple of breaks (for self interest breaks). Amazing. More of the same please."

And it's currently my best rated work! Feeling a bit self-satisfied at the moment.

On both of these I wrote my first story from the female POV, something I felt was within bounds as an author that I had read a lot (all) of is Joanmcarthy who predominately writes male POV. I have never been called out on it and for the appropriate story I feel it is more erotic to portray the woman's enjoyment. Literally just thinking about it my males are generally a bit passive for the female's needs.
So if POV is right, irrespective of gender - go for it. (I reserve the right to be (proved) wrong.)
BTW, as I follow Zootonius I read A Taste For Young Women and gave it "An nicely and eroitically told story! 5🌟" even though Lesbian is not my go to, but I'm glad I did.

@Devinter dropped by to leave this thoughtful comment on The Dome 05: New Worlds:
Finally got the chance to read the latest chapter of this glorious tale. I found it excellent, and I am thrilled that the characters continue to be developed further. I liked the ending in particular - Raurri showing her adorable side, and Xero embracing his fascination with a world that is so full of mystery to him. Will be interesting to find out how he'll act once he stands at the shoreline, gazing out over the vast sea in front of him. Only the most foolish of men parts ways with a wonderful woman, for what is a life of adventures without someone special to share it with? But Xero is young and brash. I wonder what kind of choice he'll make! 5/5.
Thank you so much! I'm particularly pleased with Xero's development, having set it up back in Chapter 2. And I'm quite pleased with myself that I didn't rush it in. :)

Another solid chapter. I'm too invested in the story to stop reading at this point.
Just published the third chapter of my first series and it sits at a pretty low view count but Anonymous posted the above comment and that definitely will sustain my efforts of editing the fourth chapter. Certainly the highlight of my day as an author.

I was looking for errors and completely forgot about my mission. A surprise since I have Javert's OCD. But feels like I drowned in something good.

Someone told me that I have beautiful eyes today, and later on another person told me I had gorgeous hair and loved my curls. Not sure why but those comments made my day today. 🤗
