I’m repeatedly seeing the problem that my Latest Activity page says “you have a new comment” but the page you click to from there doesn’t have it. Even hours later. If you instead go into the Manage Comments page from My Stories under Works, they are indeed there.

I’ve been having this for a while. Anyone else getting this problem?

"Oooo, look at me, I get comments!"

Keep rubbing it in.

There's a thread on this under Tech Support. It's a known issue being worked.
Thank you 😊

I ventured in there for the first time yesterday - not regular visitor. I generally stay in my own little pool, bad things happen in other pools 😬.

Not just comments, but it appears favorites are not showing up on stories either.

I pm'd Laurel and Manu, she responded pretty quick because I'm a site favorite (heh heh kidding...seriously) and she said they were working on it, so I imagine it'll get worked out soon.

I didn't think to do that, but I'm really glad I did, or I'd have missed this gem

Always makes me happy when I see someone who's grammar is worse than my own.

I immediately ignore any illiterate comments.

Why would anyone take stuff like that seriously.

I leave them there because they make me laugh and leaving them let's other people see what a dope they are.

Same for the nasty ones. Who am I to deny them the chance to let other people see how ignorant they are.

I seldom delete comments, unless they are just as hominems, and I figure why give a-holes a platform

Similar issue with followers. I’ve had several announcements about a new follower yet my total seems frozen. I doubt people are unfollowing me at the exact same rate as new ones are following me.

I have a huge amount of empathy for Manu, 'cuz I've been in his shoes. Those delays and mismatches between the various trackers y'all are talking about is an artifact of the site's features being spread around on multiple huge database servers. It's a big challenge to keep everything in sync; all it takes is one momentary outage on a really busy site like this to knock things out of wack. A complete re-sync could take hours if not days, and then be out-of-date by the time it's done.

I'm knowingly grateful for his and Laurel's efforts here. Their shoes are going to be really hard to fill. That day is going to come, like it is for all of us.

I wonder if when that day comes they sell off their baby, or do they just close the doors?

I had my own business for ten years, and when a variety of reasons indicated it was time to end it, I could have sold it, but found I didn't want anyone else messing with what my wife and I created.
