Coming Together : Special Memorial Edition

I'll start with one, but if there is enough space and folks wouldn't mind too much, I might take another.

Just point me in the direction of requisites and deadlines. I'll get on it.

First two posts in this thread, love. :rose:

Okay, so apparently it's a free-for-all on the cover art -- 'cause our artists aren't doing a contest after all. *shrug* If no one takes the initiative and manages some sort of poll or something, I'll just decide it myself -- which may delay publication by a week or two. (No bitching allowed, though, if I do.)

Would Mel let you use the legs picture or the cartoon from her siggy?

Whisp :rose:

Dunno. I just know that I am too deluged with the manuscript itself to also have to tackle the cover. *shrug*

Why not ask Lou, as she did the original Coming Together jacket design??

She's around a lot more now, and I think might be more than willing to use the original design, and amend the wording to show 'The Works of Colleen Thomas - in her memory.'......or something similar

Okay. Go right ahead.

(Is the "I'm not taking responsibility for creating or coordinating the cover" part coming through yet?)

I just want to let everyone here know about this thread.

"Test Screening" https://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=440283

It concerns the femslash story I'm dedicating to Ms. Thomas. Truly she was a great writer and a beautiful person, someone I will always remember even though we never met. Feel free to participate in this story's test screening if you want to and have the time. I too am having trouble finding words to put my feelings about Ms. Thomas into. This is especially true for the story I am dedicating to her- a story that, as with all my stories, I wrote with the theme of showing rich imagination, breaking down barriers, settling differences, improving friendships, and making people smile. She did that in her life, and continues to do so after her death. She will always be with us.

To those who may think this is wrong for whatever reason, I understand why you feel the way you do. I hope you will respect what I feel regardless and not see this dedication as an invitation to do anything other than respect it. Also note, the story is a short one and may not be regarded as good by all. Ms. Thomas deserves longer and better things, yes, but I want to get this still very worthy dedication over and done now so I can move on to other stories. I'll let those longer and better things be written by people who actually knew her well. I'll just do the best I can for me, Ms. Thomas, and all my other influences and hopeful fans.

I'll also leave all the forewords and comments on her stories y'all mention here to the rest of you. I think the fact that I agree with everything you've said and feel the same way should speak for itself. As someone who did not know Colly, who did not even come across her stories until he came onto this board (by that time she was gone) I don't know if I'd feel right in saying anything. Unless, of course, y'all want me to say something. I can try to think of a few things in that case. I will of course be purchasing the volume y'all produce. :)

Thanks for being friends and readers, all. Later.

Sorry that we couldn't pull together a contest. The artist corner hasn't had much activity recently and I think those who were interested didn't feel they had enough time(and for some skill) to do it justice.

I did go out and take pictures but the quality sucked(my old cam is breaking down). If anyone wants to play around with them I can email them.

I also have a suggestion for the cover.
It is rough but here it is anyways....

Are there still stories being picked, or has the limit (if any) been reached?

I think you can still select one. I'm not 100% sure, but I think there are plans to do more than one volume.

Lou was right. We can produce as many volumes as nececssary to include everyone who would like to participate. Colly's worth the effort. :rose:

I'm fairly certain (although I've not received all the files or word counts yet -- not by a long shot) that we've already enough participants to fill close to two volumes.

:rose:

Mat PM'd me and asked if I'd do a cover, for consideration, based on the original covers I did.

Here's a quick basic design. Please bear in mind that I can do the tinted overlay in any colour (anyone know what Colly's favourite colour was?). Also, I can add a small image here and there (her beautiful "legs" AV, for example).

This is just an idea, and something that's a base that can be worked on (and completed within the next 12 hours, if need be). I also very much like what Elf has done, so I don't know what the final decision might be, or how that could be reached.

I like it (of course), Lou. Thanks for helping.

I'd play with the text a bit. We're gonna need to include a volume, for example.

Instead of "The Works of Colleen Thomas" and "Special Memorial Edition" ... would:

Special Memorial Edition
volume 1
Colleen Thomas

... work? It'll make subsequent volumes easier, and (heaven forbid) we ever do this for another AHer, it provides an easy-to-replicate template.

:rose:

If we include the AV image (Do we even have permission?), I'd be tempted to put it on the back cover with the blurb.

Excellent, and no need for thanks - I'm honored to be doing it.

As for the wording, I agree, it does need playing with a bit.

I *think* we have permission to use her AV, but I'll have to check.

I've uploaded some more images here (front, back and spine), so that everyone can see the full concept.

Maybe I'll do a poll, for the overlay colour tinting? Or do you have any perferences? Baring in mind that I used blue for the original volume one and red for volume two.

Okay, I've updated the second post in this thread to show what I've received in terms of blurbs & stories.

I haven't (and won't) scan through this thread for blurbs. Too many "drafts" and such. You are welcome to call me a bitch. I don't much care. ;)

The Hulk

I'm not an author, just a fan, but if it's permitted, I'd like to write something for The Hulk.
