Does anyone know how to best get one of the erotic comic sites to transform a story into a comic?

I've seen a few stories form this site "brought to life" as a comic, but don't know how to get through to an artist.

Thanks

Jack

My guess is either they have an artist friend, are the artist themselves, or you can find one who will take a commission for you.

For the most part you need to know someone.

Another option is checking out a local college and seeing if there are students of the form, looking to cut their teeth on a project.

I'm in the beginning stages of working on making my book Abigail into a six issue mini series, I have the artist, but haggling with the writer, we're not sharing the visuals he wants to use as of right now.

The erotic comic sites are basically webcomics.

Most of the early webcomics involving writer/artist duos came about because the two guys were already friends and decided to start a comic. I have recently learned that's not so much the case anymore. Guys who want to write a webcomic are able to rummage through some artist forums for artists in search of commission work. (I forget the URLs of these sites but probably couldn't post them here anyway. Though maybe Hentai Foundry would be a good place to start since they are all drawing porn pictures there to begin with.)

I went to a convention panel of one such webcomic writer, he explained that some of these artists will even work on the cheap, either for the exposure or for the promise of a future cut if the webcomic becomes successful enough to sell tshirts or have a kickstarter for a printed version.

Since the erotic comic sites are all paysites, I presume they do pay outright for the comics they host, so that's something right there, too.

Can you name some examples? I'm curious to see these too.

I actually would also love to have some of my stuff redone as comics, but I'm not so sure that I really want to put forth the effort to find, hire, and manage an artist.

Be sure to let us know if you manage to pull this off, I would be interested in hearing a success story.
