Anyone else have certain things they wear that are "comfort" items, similar to comfort food?

I have my grandmother's engagement ring. When I wear it, I always feel that she is with me, and that comforts me. I don't wear it every day, but I do make sure I wear it on days that I suspect are going to be difficult for some reason.

Yesterday, I heard "Glory Days" on the radio just as I was picking out a necklace to wear for work. I ended up picking a pendant I wore just every day my senior year in high school (26 years ago!), my old drill team officer's charm. Oddly, it felt right at home around my neck, like I'd never stopped wearing it. It had the same comforting effect as my grandmother's ring. Nostalgia?

What about the rest of you? What is your "comfort" item?

Well, I wear two rings. One that was my grandfathers ring that he always used to wear (RIP) and one that my grandmother had made for all of us grandson's, all 36 of us. I wear them about 90% of the time and people ask what they are and then I can tell them how proud I am to wear 'em and why I wear 'em. I simply wear them because my grandparents are/were (both grandfathers are RIP).

I have a a necklace that my brother in law made for me with my son's name on it, I never take it off. I have a jacket & 2 shirts that were my son's favorite pieces of clothing & I wear them. I have 2 sweaters that belonged to my grandmother. My engagment ring.

I wear my shell necklace that I made. It reminds me of where I like to be the most: sitting on the beach under an umbrella drinking a Malibu rum on the rocks. This always helps make my day a little brighter.

I have my fathers watch - it's the only thing I have of his and I wear it all the time. I also have a special blue stone that I wear with my gold chain that a friend from Turkey gave me. She swears it's good luck and is supposed to ward off evil eyes.
