Comey sounds off after move to drop Flynn case: 'DOJ has lost its way'
Brooke Singman By Brooke Singman | Fox News

DOJ drops Michael Flynn criminal case, in wake of internal memo release
The Justice Department drops case against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn after internal memos were released raising serious questions about the nature of the investigation; Andy McCarthy, former U.S. Assistant Attorney, weighs in.

Former FBI Director James Comey lamented that the “DOJ has lost its way” as he expressed disappointment over the news that the Justice Department moved Thursday to drop the case against former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn.

“The DOJ has lost its way,” Comey tweeted just after the Justice Department filed the motion. “But, career people: please stay because America needs you.”

Comey, who led the FBI at the time the bureau began investigating Flynn, said: “The country is hungry for honest, competent leadership.”

James Comey

@Comey
The DOJ has lost its way. But, career people: please stay!

This man belongs behind bars!!

Comey has the right to remain silent, he should avail himself of that right.

All of this "watch the moving shells" crap is just that--Trump criminal corruption crap. Flynn was working for foreign governments when he was working the U.S. government and using his U.S. positions to further the interests of those foreign governments. That's against the law and goes to the level of treason when you're holding the U.S. government positions he was (even the judge in his case asked why he wasn't being prosecuted for treason). That's fact. It's also fact that he pleaded guilty to doing it.

All of the rest of this is just Trump gang and board Trumpette flimflamming and Republican enabling.

Comey joins J. Edgar Hoover as rotten heads of an institution that has still done much more good than harm.

Most FBI members are hard-working, decent individuals trying to do the right thing, get the bad guy, and make the country a better place. It doesn't always work out that way but the vast majority do the right thing even in the most harrowing of circumstances.

But then there are political tools like Comey who are as corrupted and corruptable as a cop on the take.

Flynn sold his house to pay for his defense.
I wish he could sue CNN and the DNC, but no, the taxpayers (rightist) will get stuck with the bill.

^^^^^^ Speaking of delusional. ^^^^^^

Tell it to the former NIA director. He specifically said that he saw NO EVIDENCE of anything like what you're saying here.

That's because it is literally made up. There's no there there.

Hold your applause. 1. The judge doesn't have to accept any of this flimflam. This is in the sentencing phase, not the trial phase. 2. The flimflam this is all applied to is only part of what Flynn pleaded guilty to. He pleaded guilty to other crimes as well. 3. The book on whatever happens now is open until 2017. A new administration can turn it on again (he could share a prison block with Trump and Barr)--and the phase this is in is the sentencing phase. The trial was waived. He pleaded guilty--twice, including once before the judge who now has this in his hands (and who questioned at one point why Flynn wasn't being prosecuted for treason).

All of this theater is beside the point that he's guilty of working for foreign governments (and admitting that in a guilty plea that is separate from this flimflam) while working in a high-level, sensitive position where he was in a position to favor the foreign governments he was secretly working for as well.

The man is a swarmy slug, as are the board Trumpettes carrying water for him.

Keith is delusional and gets his news from propagandists. The case was dismissed with prejudice which means it's over and done with and cannot be re-filed in court.

Keith thinks the judge is going to sentence Flynn to prison based on his guilty plea alone now that the DOJ has determined that Flynn's plea pertained to a crime requiring a statement "to be not simply false, but 'materially' false with respect to a matter under investigation."The documents provided to the court by the DOJ showed the government "is not persuaded that the January 24, 2017 interview was conducted with a legitimate investigative basis and therefore does not believe Mr. Flynn's statements were material even if untrue."

I don't know what the judge will do at this juncture but I don't think Flynn is going to jail, but maybe a vindictive judge would enjoy inflicting additional pain on a innocent man even if it would mean an immediate reversal on appeal.

It is said his legal fees amount to 6.5 million if truly calculated, but Powell is said to have taken his case pro bono.
