Come Hither Hamlet

If you call me, I'll be there . . .

Ah, thanks Foxy!!!

Do you know the Van Morrison one that my location quotes?

Real Real Gone
Real real gone
I got hit by a bow and arrow
Got me down to the very marrow
And I'm real real gone
Real real gone
I can't stand up by myself
Don't you know I need your help
And I'm real real gone

Some people say
You can make it on your own
Oh you can make it if you try
I know better now
You can't stand up alone
Oh baby that is why

I'm real real gone
I can't stand up by myself
Don't you know I need your help
You're a friend of mine
And I'm real real gone

And Sam Cooke is on the radio
And the night is filled with space
And your fingertips touch my face
You're a friend of mine
And I'm real real gone

I'm real gone
Oh lord I got hit by a bow and arrow
Got me down to the very marrow
You're a friend of mine
And I'm real real gone
And I'm real real gone
I'm real gone

OMG. You know who Roxy Music is!?

Wow. They were one of my very faves back in the '70s.

Love is the drug, and I need the cure.

okay hamlet that was just freaky. that song just played on my winamp. have you been stalking me again?

Who, me!?

I know what you did last summer....

I think you're pulling my leg. Not that I'd mind that, you understand.

Hammy, I love Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry.

With or without Eno? Or both ways?

One of my all-time favorite albums--yes, they were called albums back then--is Ferry's first solo effort, "These Foolish Things."

With and without :)

I love Ferry's rendition of "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes", as well.

YES! Great cover of that song. And I love his version of "It's My Party (and I'll cry if I want to)"

May I join in?

Not only do I know who Roxy Music is... I've seen them AND I've played some of their songs in bands I've been in.

Anyone here ever heard Manzanera and Eno's band called 801? There cover of Tomorrow Never Knows was incredible... not to mention their version of Baby's On Fire.

BABY'S ON FIRE

Baby's on fire
Better throw her in the water
Look at her laughing
Like a heifer to the slaughter

Baby's on fire
And all the laughing boys are bitching
Waiting for photos
Oh the plot is so bewitching

Rescuers row row
Do your best to change the subject
Blow the wind blow blow
Lend some assistance to the object

Photographers snip snap
Take your time she's only burning
This kind of experience
Is necessary for her learning

If you'll be my flotsam
I could be half the man I used to
They said you were hot stuff
And that's what Baby's been reduced to...

Juanita and Juan
Very clever with maraccas
Making their fortunes
Selling second-hand tobaccoes

Juan dances at Chico's
And when the clients are evicted
He empties the ashtrays
And pockets all that he's collected

But Baby's on fire!
And all the instruments agree that
Her temperature's rising
But any idiot would know that.

(Also love Van Morrison, of course!)

I wondered when you'd drop in, Dilly. And if anybody'd know who 801 was, it'd be you. "801 Live" was an incredible album.

Ah foxinsox - I just changed my AV - in a different mood today, I guess - I hope you don't mind? I still have the Monster Cock, of course, just not displaying it at the moment.

Funny you should talk about dreams in relationship to that quote. Last night I dreamed about stuffing you with my Monster Cock... *Grin*

Hamletmaschine - hell of an album. In fact, I'm going to put it on a bit later - maybe I'll digitize it and trasfer it to my MP3 player.

Saw Brian Ferry solo once as well - Bride Stripped Bare tour... was excellent.

Dilly, baby, you and your monster cock are always welcome. And I love that song :)

In fact, you and Hammy are indeed men after my own heart. As such, I bestow one of my favourite Shakespeare quotes upon you:

"We are such stuff as dreams are made on" - The Tempest

Hmmm, I'm wondering if I should use my favorite Shakespeare line and let you dilly monstercock have the room to yourselves.;)

The line?

Exit pursued by bear, of course, from Winter's Tale.

Hamletmaschine:

Do not draw back, for we will mourn with thee
O, could our mourning ease thy misery!
